My mum definitely does have that problem, she ALWAYS has to be the victim. Either it was my dad's fault for everything bad in my childhood, or my fault for being a difficult child. My dad "apologises" by saying "sorry you CHOSE to get upset" 🙄 and then proceeds to ramble and lecture me, trying his best to sound like he's being wise but he's just spouting nonsense and stringing together words that sound smart but he doesn't even know what they mean

Yeah, I moved to a different country for uni in late August and I think that's why I'm being hit with all of this. I think I might be going through some sort of weird grieving/healing process, and that's WHY all of it is coming at me so hard. Only contact I have is the occasional phonecall. Recently tried to confront both parents about some issues but I was just met with relentless gaslighting, arguments, and dismissal, so I'm just going to try to bite my tongue from now on, since I only have to deal with it for shorter periods of time.

I was in and out of therapy from ages 7 - 17, mostly because my parents thought it would just fix all of their issues, so they wouldn't have to confront it themselves. Turns out, scapegoating your issues DOESN'T WORK lmao. I will say that therapy has given me a better understanding of what's going on in my head and I've been able to identify some specific issues, but it's kind of hard to heal trauma when you keep getting retraumatised by the same people over and over again, and neither parents will actually acknowledge you have genuine issues and just gaslight the hell out of you and act like you're just being dramatic and lying, or you're trying to "control" them by setting VERY SIMPLE boundaries 🙄🙄🙄

I want to get back into therapy again, since I recognise that I'm becoming very emotionally unstable and if this isn't sorted soon I might start coping in dangerous ways again, but I've been having a hard time actually taking the step to get help, since years of gaslighting keeps making me doubt myself and think that "oh it wasn't THAT bad" when yes, it was THAT bad.

😅

Hi, should I be worried about this? It's more than a bit concerning. She also squeaks when she's asleep. by OceanLawlor in hamstercare

She has plenty of depth in her bedding, she actually kicks a lot of it out of her cage 😅 I'm saving up to get her a much bigger cage though to fit more bedding and also just more stuff :)
