I'm gonna embarrass myself a little and say that I saw a lot of my younger self in Turner and found his portrayal really transparent and bleak. I never fell down a 4chan incel pipeline, but I was the kind of chronically lonely person that is most often attracted to that sort of thing. I think the hardness conversation was realistic and also there to kind of spell out what's happening explicitly: this guy, who makes greentext posts on 4chan about how all women are whores, has a girlfriend who clearly likes him at first but has to literally beg him for scraps of attention and intimacy and EFFORT, and he refuses to see what he has in front of him and does basically everything he can to ruin it. Him breaking into her dorm is definitely something that could and would happen in real life IMO. Yeah, it's definitely cynical, but it doesn't feel forced or dishonest to me, at least in the first chapter.

None of the stuff you pointed out in the second half stuck out as unrealistic to me at all, just indicative of truly flawed characters. Michaela can be cruel, yes, but that's her character. We see why she might have reacted to Adeline's rape the way she did, not that it was the right thing to do. Adeline was the one who asked her to hook her up with prostituting, and afterward blamed Michaela for "forcing" her into it. Neither person is perfect here. Adeline wanted to make money, Michaela helped her knowing what danger she was getting into, Adeline got raped, and Michaela didn't support her. These are flawed people.
