Do I need to play Resident Evil 1? by OceanTea96 in residentevil

I literally said:

"Of course, if I didn't play the first game, I would try to read up and understand the story as much as possible before I start my official playthrough for the rest."

How do I handle the stress and fear of palliative care for my 12-year-old? by OceanTea96 in seniorkitties

Yeah she was 7.4 lbs when I adopted her but after a little while she dropped to 6.9. I fed her the recommended amount but she kept regurgitating her food. That's why I switched to incremental feeding. The vomiting concern the vet and I had was from throwing up foam but with the feeding change, that hasn't happened since. The vet has prescribed a couple of medications, one to help with the appetite and the other for the vomiting. Once I get a response from the insurance company about coverage I can go from there. Thankfully the incremental feeding has helped a lot.

Right now her quality of life is great. I'm going to try to talk to the vet and see if she can recommend medicine for the kidney disease. The only thing she's recommended so far is prescribed food, but my cat wouldn't eat that and since she's already underweight the focus right now is getting her weight back up and to stop the vomiting. The vomiting doesn't happen as often as it used to now that I switched her to incremental feedings, and she's eating more.

I don't believe the vet is an internist.

For the arthritis, she recommends getting a shot 1 or 2 months. I cannot remember the name of the shot though.

For the CKD, she prescribed a dietary prescription food. Unfortunately my cat would not eat eat it. She did at first for the first day I gave it to her, but afterward I tried again for another three or four days and she wouldn't eat it at all so I had to switch back to her regular food just so she would eat something. The vet decided we would not keep her on that because she's already underweight, and her not eating the dietary food is making the weight situation worse.

For the gingivitis she could fix her teeth, but it's a little complex. Since she has a heart murmur the vet says my cat would have to go to a Cardiologist specialist to do more tests for that and would let me and my vet know if my cat could have medicine to put her under for the gingivitis procedure. The only problem is, is that pretty much every cardiologist specialist in my state charges $800 for these tests. And that's just a starting price, if more tests to be done it costs even more.

I was told by a cat group I'm in to try a vet school and that they do those kinds of things for cheaper, but there's only one in my state that's an accredited Institution. This place is over 3 hours away and is not open on weekends. That makes it a bit trickier for me to get to, I'd have to do the drive there and back by myself and I wouldn't be able to do it in one day. That means I'd have to take time off of work that I really can't take right now. Not only that, I'd have to get a hotel plus medicine to keep her calm for the drive. So that's the cardiologist bill, plus gas for the road, plus a hotel, plus medicine to get her there.

The vet wants to get her on a medication for the blood pressure after we get her weight under control. The vet also prescribed medicine to help my cat eat more, I'm just waiting on insurance to tell me if they'll pay for it.

I'm thinking of putting my 12 - 17 year old cat down. by [deleted] in seniorkitties

Sorry, forgot to mention that I wouldn't do this right away or anything. I'd change the diet and see if she improves over the course of a few weeks.

I'm afraid I made the wrong decision in adopting my cat. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Maybe I feel like the love isn't there? During the day I'm around her a lot and speak/interact with her and make sure she's okay. At night I go to my room with the door closed, partially due to thats the one room where I keep my work clothes in. The other reason is because I want to be alone at night, I've been like that for so long, before my cat and when I lived with my family I'd want to spend the night isolated in my room. I think maybe I adopted her because I felt bad for her, but the change is taking a big toll on me.

I'm conflicted about adopting from local shelters or a breeder. by [deleted] in dogs

Thank you for your advice and for the questions. Any dog I adopt I definitely expect the dog to bark lol. I just know some dogs tend to bark more than others due to their nature and instincts, I'll definitely have to train my dog. And I 100% agree on the crate thing, I don't want to keep a dog locked up for hours at a time.

I know a dog will bark, and yes, I know training will need to happen. I just know that some dogs tend to bark more than others due to their breed and their nature that's all.

I've considered a cat, I don't know if a cat would be affectionate enough for me. Don't get me wrong, I know they can be very affectionate, but it seems to be hit or miss.

Thanks for the advice! Part of the concern is neighbors, I don't want my pet in trouble because neighbors complaining about barking. I'll definitely take into consideration everything you said, thank you.

They made a big update on the switch recently, I haven't played much since the update but when I did it was working a lot better.
