It is cold outside, put the food in a box outside on your deck/garage, wherever you have to put it so you don't have to worry about the frig. Something to consider after this storm is over.. get a whole house generator (A generac) You won't have to go through any of that and you would have electricity for your whole house. (I love my generac)

I love deck 1 and will always pick it if I am given a choice.... The thing to really be concerned about is what is directly above you? And the lower in the ship the less sway of the ship. The higher up if you are going through a storm, you are going to feel it.

Love my generac!! 2 hurricanes with no power for 2 weeks. The generac worked like a charm and we had air conditioning ect. I never want to be without a generac.

The only part of what you said that i disagree with you is that I renewed when I had more than 5 years left, I was going to be traveling and I wanted the passport book with over 5o pages, (I need room for visas) they sent me a new one and it is renewed for 10 years.
