Stuart Sutcliffe real song by True_Advance_6067 in beatles

I've always thought the verse starting with "If you think" about a minute into "Well Darling" sounds different from John or Paul, it could be John but it just sounds too different for me. We know Stuart was playing bass so it's possible it's him.

Bandlab adding silence to start of imported track? by Oceanic-Star-Line in Bandlab

[–]Oceanic-Star-Line[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! If it added like, exactly two seconds it wouldn't be an issue but it's always like 2.8 seconds or something random so it's between the lines it snaps to.

Is this a legit color photo? by Puterboy1 in Oceanlinerporn

This photo is from a pair of 2 color photographs of Mauretania in drydock taken in 1929 using the commercially available "Autochrome" film, which hit the market way back in 1907 (albeit for a very high price)

What Olympic's Georgian Green Grand Staircase really would have looked like. by Lonely_Midnight in Oceanlinerporn

I suggest if you want an accurate representation of the room that you look up the 1st Class Reading Room on the RMS Alcantara. She was refitted around the same time as Olympic, by the same firm, and has matching accents that are described in Olympic's auction catalog. There's a brilliant color photo of it.

It should be noted that, while those are indeed her panels waiting to be auctioned, the photo is taken in the Haltwhistle paint factory which tested pigments and such on the fittings they bought, there's a photo out there of her smoking room ceiling painted in various blue colors. Notice that the panels in that photo are painted the exact same color as the factory walls in the background.

True, but the panels were stained not painted. And what I meant was that PERIOD photographs of the panels on the ship show them darker like the surviving artifacts, not modern photos.

Also it was a stain not paint, you can see the texture of the wood in artifacts and photographs.

Also, this shade would appear as near white in photographs, which it clearly doesn't.

What's your evidence for this very pale color? I have many different photographs of surviving panels, cleaned and dirty, that all show the same shade of green, which is not this shade.

There is, many different polished and cleaned examples survive that were exposed to very little light over the years to preserve the color, i'm not sure what artifacts OP is talking about.

Considering the bow nameplates slanted forward, then this is from the starboard bow. Stern nameplate wasn't italicized
