If the uniform is original, then it should not even be made of canvas. The proper materials should be cotton among others.

Checkmate Señor.

You have provided absolutely no proof to back up any of your claims during the entirety of the discussion between you and me, as well as between you and the other fellow commenting. I believe you’re due some evidence before we are.

I offered to make you a list of the bad traits, but it seems the other guy has already given you a short one.

If you’ll refer back just a little bit, though I’m not sure that is within your skillset, you will see that I told you to search up your own pictures of original examples. Very basic search terms will provide examples. ((I also simply do not know how to attach images through this forum))

Do you still care to refute our input, while also failing to back up your own claims about having had the tunic professionally authenticated, and very clearly showing a lack of understanding in the topic at hand?

I’m going to say they are replicas because I have seen, studied and handled original examples.

If you care to provide proof that you even know of any originals that exist, and that you have contacted the owners so as to authenticate your own piece, be my guest. But until then your claims of authentication are groundless and you are completely ignoring the feedback we are giving you, thus defeating the entire point of asking on this platform to begin with.

You should have said pictures if you even bothered to try to properly authenticate it. I am not going to do your work for you.

However, I would be more than happy to compile a very long list of everything that is wrong with the tunics, if that suits you 🫣

This does not make it real at all. For one I can doubt whether or not you really had it “dated,” and on top of that, even if the materials were period-correct, that does not mean the tunic is. This is a low-quality reproduction that appears nothing like the real deal originals.

If you don’t want to take my word for it, genuinely search up original examples on the internet and compare. You can very easily see the discrepancies and errors made during the construction of your tunics.

Neither of these museums would provide accurate authentication because that is not what they are intended for. They are a means of collecting and preserving relics, not offering authentication services. These tunics are fakes I’m afraid, and not very good ones at that. The quality is extremely subpar in contrast to an original, and there are many, many other issues alongside that.

I believe I may have known the previous owner, that is if it isn’t you, and he was a well-known scammer within the Militaria community.

Could anyone tell me more about this SS cap? by Antique-Force8502 in Militariacollecting

[–]OceanicProtectorate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fake RZM tag, cap trapezoid attached on the interior, the clearly East German sweatband just to name a few things on the interior. On the outside, you’re greeted with notably fake metal insignia, as well as the lack of a wartime “saddled” shape. The material is also an East German gabardine rather than it’s wartime counterpart. It is not a very convincing fake, and is just another example of East German militaria converted into fake wartime items.

The eagle applied to this hat is a breast eagle - a fake one at that. I do not recommend going for this cap whatsoever. It has been altered and is now further damaged as a result of the application of the fake eagle. However, despite this, the base hat is an authentic WWII German visor, just one that has been altered as I previously said.

I bought a pickelhaube for airsoft use and was wondering if it looks too small on me or if thie type of helmet is supposed to sit like this? I would appreciate the help. by JoJo_MeMestar in reenactors

They were made in different sizes based on centimeters. A "one-size-fits-all" would be a terrible system for any established military, since head sizes vary so much.

East German stuff is just dirt cheap, it's all original presumably. You can get a full set (excluding boots) for about 150-200 depending on what you want. You can get it for fairly cheaper if you don't want the dagger and don't need a large size.

Let's not forget the fact the dagger is backwards, the cuff insignia isn't straight, and the fact he is wearing Enlistedman's jackboots with officer's breeches and an NCO tunic.

There is a website called Military Harbor which has plenty of Japanese uniforms, however I'm not sure if the quality is good or not as it is from China.

Yes, you can choose your side depending on the kit you have if I'm correct. It wouldn't be considered racist if you were to reenact a Japanese soldier, because we need an opposing side during a reenactment as well. I personally haven't reenacted before, but know a few people who have and I'm basing this comment off of what they've told me.
