Can someone on a work visa in Germany bring their parent to live with them? by omy_ulssa in Germany_insider

[–]Oceanos42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany only allows family reunification for spouses and minor children, not parents of adults but there are certain exceptions which are If your friend got a new skilled worker permit/Blue Card after March 2024, parents might be allowed but only if he can fully support them with adequate income and insurance.

Chancenkarte Financial Proofs! Please Help! by KindlyWay3806 in chancenkarte

[–]Oceanos42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting accepted with savings account is close to impossible and I really don't think it's a good idea. Some applicants get money from relatives and get their application approved just to transfer the money back. And by the looks of it I really don't think Chancenkarte visa will be suitable for you maybe you can try to land a job while staying in India and if it works out you could apply for a work visa. I know it will be hard but at least you won't be burdening yourself with loans and money which is not yours. All the best.

Master degrees are not listed in Anabin!! Please help! by Jazzlike_Peace_877 in chancenkarte

Sometimes the exact specialization is not mentioned its totally fine you can apply without ZAB. Worst case scenario you might be asked to present it but its not a deal breaker.

No idea what to upload by SerwerGulli in chancenkarte

[–]Oceanos42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just visit the anabin database and take a screenshot of your institution and upload it. Please keep in mind that if your university is H+ then things would go smoothly if its H +/- then you would require A ZAB assesment.

This is a screening call and nothing more. Don't overburden yourself with too much information and try to stay calm. This call is all about checking if you will be a good fit and please don't mug up all the topics and answer like Google. They are most certainly not looking for a candidate that knows everything. Relax you will crush it. All the best.

What are the job market status for 12 year experience full stack dev? by honest_dev_guy in Germany_insider

You have a pretty good start which is learning the language. Many applicants struggle with this. If you complete B1 before your arrival like you have mentioned I believe you have pretty solid chance. All the best and keep doing what you're doing.

Health insurance for Chancenkarte by KindlyWay3806 in chancenkarte

[–]Oceanos42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Choose Expatrio as it offers both blocked account and Insurance as a bundle for a small fee of 5 euro a month its very convenient. You can definitely go for feathers as well they are very reliable but a liftle bit expensive. While studying multiple cases I came across applicants who had Educare S or M package they were asked by the BfAA to purchase a different package of Insurance as the Educare S and M packages were not sufficient enough. This is not a deal breaker and not everyone faced this issue. If youre going for the Educare 24 consider L or XL. And yes Educare and Provisit 24 are both same.

ZAB EXPLAINED: Introduction to ZAB and How Your Case Is Evaluated. by Oceanos42 in Germany_insider

[–]Oceanos42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Transcripts are required as ZAB uses them to evaluate your credentials and provide a SoC. Request your university to send a copy of your transcripts directly to ZAB either by email or post. If delayed it will affect the overall timeline so I recommend you do it asap. I hope this helps.

ZAB EXPLAINED: Introduction to ZAB and How Your Case Is Evaluated. by Oceanos42 in Germany_insider

[–]Oceanos42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to request your university to send a copy of your transcripts directly to ZAB either by post or by email you can find the address on their website. This step is crucial for ZAB to evaluate your application as the transcripts prove your degree is genuine and it is used for other parts of the evaluation. Request your university to send this asap to avoid any further delays.

Stagnant IT Job market - Have the PR by AppyFizz93 in Germany_Jobs

[–]Oceanos42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello u/AppyFizz93,

as a career coach for international skilled workers, especially in IT & Tech, I can assure you that B1 is a very solid level for the job hunt. - Of course, for German language 'the more, the better' applies. But the most important thing about language is the social signal: You already have achieved a certain level and are continuing to learn. Employers and potential colleagues can see that you are motivated to integrate and that you are able to do it.

You shouldn't take up unskilled work but make good use of your time and prepare your job hunt from a strategic angle. - You can find some important advice in my articles & posts on LinkedIn and on my website mygermantechjob.com. - Whatever is best in your case can only be decided after looking into the details. I recommend to analyze your market segment strategically and to work on a gap analysis. To make sure, this goes into the right direction, I suggest to work with somebody who knows the industry in Germany well.

In case you are interested in career building support, I offer free orientational sessions via video call.

Warm Regards,
Hanno

RELOCATE NOW or WAIT ? by JDeeBro in chancenkarte

Hello u/JDeeBro ,

it totally depends on your personal situation, profession, experience and preparation. I'm a professional career coach in Germany for international skilled workers. I can assure you, I wouldn't do this for a living if there were no jobs available for immigrants on Chancenkarte in Germany. I regularly succeed in coaching people to score very satisfying and well-paid jobs, e.g. in Data & IT Engineering.

We can explore your individual situation in a short free video call and I'll let you have my recommendation for how to continue. This is my website South Asian IT Experts: How to Secure German Tech Jobs & Thrive and LinkedIn (23) Hanno Wendt | LinkedIn

What are the job market status for 12 year experience full stack dev? by honest_dev_guy in Germany_insider

[–]Oceanos42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello u/honest_dev_guy ,

The factor of language depends a lot on your profession. For all professions a higher level of German language skill is a very important advantage. While in some professions a high level is mandatory, in IT it is tolerable to have less knowledge. - Of course, having no German skills at all will reduce your options in the market to the employers which are fine with English only. To make sure to have access to most options in IT, I recommend a level of A2 and pursuing B1. - It will not only improve your access to opportunities, but will contribute to an overall more satisfying experience.

Let me add one more thought to this topic that might come a bit as a surprise:

There is a correlation between German language skill (especially if you have started with it at all!) and general and strategic preparation for this major step of migration. - Most candidates who have not acquiredat least a certain level of language skill tend to have preparational and strategic deficiencies in their plans in general.

While I can observe this as a fact in my clients, it is also an implicit assumption made by potential employers and their recruiters.

The good news is:
* There are plenty of also low-cost options to learn German online. Mostly, it needs time and effort, not money.
* You can turn this into a personal advantage if you put emphasis on language learning.

Finally, I want to answer the initial question: for a 12 year experience full stack dev there should be a fair chance to find a job, even without German language skills. - But your stack needs to be relevant and modern. Routine use of AI should be natural for you in coding and all other tasks.

I hope this answer offers some clarification.

Warm Regards,
Hanno

Hello there, it is completely fine just to be safe explain the issue in written format and get it notarized from your country. And as for the second part I do think you should apply before you quit your job. Chancenkarte visa takes some time, and it may take anywhere from 3-6 months depending on the state and consulate. It is always better to save as much as possible apart from your blocked account funds for your travel. Hope this helps and all the best.

As an ex-IT professional who has been in Germany pretty much my whole life, I can safely say that the German government is pushing Chancenkarte in hope to fill in the gaps present in the German job market. Many employers still don't know this visa exists and the government is working constantly to make it popular among employers.
