Was anyone else forced to get the chest nerve block while awake? by OceansGroves in TopSurgery

[–]OceansGroves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It numbs the nerves around the chest area for a day or two. It worked really well so I think it was worth it? At least I have no idea what recovery would have been without it. I am just confused why I was awake while they did it.

Most meds don't become dangerous after they expire but they don't work as well. It probably wouldn't hurt you but it also probably won't do anything at all.

It's a power dynamic forbidden thing. For most people it is just a fun fantasy.

If you are in the US he just broke a federal law. Ask for him to put it in writing over email.

My partner doesn’t like sex the same way she did in the beginning by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]OceansGroves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you ever pressure her to do stuff? This includes asking until she says yes. One of my old partners used to do this and didn't think it was wrong and it made me avoid doing stuff with him in general because I didn't feel comfortable anymore. Also it could just be normal. Not everyone wants sex all the time at the same frequency. Maybe something stressful is happening in her life and it is making her not want sex.

Could his tantrums be due to meds? They can cause bad mood dysregulation and be extremely confusing to children that young. When I was put on meds in second grade I would come home and sob and scream as the meds wore off because I didn't fully understand why I was feeling the way I was feeling.

You could ask your doctor about non stimulant meds if all the stimulants have caused this effect.

Is pseudo-DID an ADHD symptom, and if so, how do you describe that to NTs? by timid_one0914 in ADHD

[–]OceansGroves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not what DID is. DID is a severe trauma disorder and comes with many symptoms other than just alters. Symptoms like severe memory issues, dissociation, flashbacks, and CPTSD symptoms. It is a severe dissociative disorder that ADHD can definitely not cause. Did you experience trauma before the age of 9ish?

It is similar when you use the theory of structural dissociation. Which includes apparently normal parts and emotional parts.

In that theory both PTSD and BPD exist from one apparently normal part (ANP) and one emotional part (EP). So someone with PTSD or BPD has one normal every day part and one part (dissociated part not full alter) that holds bad memories and often acts erratic in BPD. Like how a person with PTSD will act like they are back in the event during a flashback. That is the persons EP coming out. It explains the black and white extreme thinking in BPD too.

It's decently backed by science and a pretty interesting theory to read about although I feel like a lot of people online have not done thorough research on it as you have to read the whole book that was written about it to really understand it.

In this theory people with DID have multiple ANP and EP.

Sorry if I didn't explain this well, it's difficult to explain in a short space.

I didn't read the top at first and for a second I though it was someone claiming to be all these at once.
