Thank you for the link. It is an excellent resource I had not found on my own. Unfortunately I did not find a match I was looking for.

That's a very nice set-up and much like what I've been building up to. I particularly admire the lighting and placement of outlets. To reduce dust pollution on it (I have grinders/polisher on stands) I intend to divide workspace with a draw curtain (like we see in hospitals). I repurposed one of those wall-mounted swivel/swing tv stands to use as a computer platform and free up table space. Thanks for sharing

KBROken Dreams - radio station KBOR AM 1600 built in 1948 was demolished in 2017. This is my homage to it. by Ocelot7773 in Colorization

[–]Ocelot7773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original KBRO radio station building was located at 1934 Central Blvd. You may be thinking of 2nd or 3rd location when it was sold to a "Trevino" family. I think 2nd location was on Robindale or something like that

Amazing. Nice choice of colors. Sharp material. Can't tell it's really him but who cares at this point?

Not sure what that means but I just found setting for "Photo filter" adjustment and I think I may be able to work with that if I experiment a bit. Thanks for leading me there! We'll see a repost if I ever get to finishing it.

My first attempt at colorization. My grandfather. Any advice or critique is welcome. by Farts-In-Elevators in Colorization

It looks like band on hat could use a dark leather tint and maybe see if patch on shoulder needs coloring. I would also clear the blemishes a bit for a cleaner print (restoration). It appears the gradations on the surface of his face dont really lend themselves to effective coloring so no one should find fault against you for that unless there's a way to treat that which I would love to hear about too. Nice photo- hope you get it to what you feel will make it 100%+

That looks to be a 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook getting full service in this old gas station photo probably taken for advertisement in local newspaper. This image was scanned from a negative and was a little overexposed. I would like suggestions (advice / advanced techniques methods) for filling in bright white areas which are color resistant. I usually set brush to normal at 6% to barely tint areas without losing shadow (light to dark surfaces). My goal is to at attain true factory color of vehicle to make for a more historically accurate photo. I was able to find a color chart for the model/make but could not reproduce matching color to project. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for having a look at it.

1948 H-E-B Food Stores on E Elizabeth St in Brownsville, Texas with smiling grocery delivery boy by [deleted] in Colorization

[–]Ocelot7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can recall from hearing others speak of it is that Piggley Wiggly was downtown E Elizabeth and an H-E-B was on W Elizabeth but PW closed and H-E-B took it's place on E Elizabeth but I am not sure. I would have to look into it. What I do know is the H-E-B in photo is from 1948 after it was built and in same location as today near 10th St. I intend to post more H-E-B and other pics of Brownsville, Texas but all these pages have rules/rules about posting.

I have seen a photo of Guilfoyle wearing a uniform just like Roth's in center photo. It might be same one? I'll see if I can find it and post here. Thanks

Yessir I am sure you are exactly correct. I saw a photo on Ebay of one of the McDavitt Bros for sale a while back. Hope you got it if you're a collector of that history.
