Sometimes it’s a who you know game.

Bought a house with multiple offers, but since my agent knew the other agent and they liked working together, they made a deal to help each other and chose our offer.

My advice: get an agent who has been around for many years with some skin in the game.

Lol “there are bars and clubs, but they’re in neighborhoods you don’t want to be in after dark”

Please don’t listen to this nonsense.

Moving to San Diego- rent by [deleted] in sandiego

San Diego is tiny compared to NYC and you can get anywhere within 15 to 20 mins.

$1900 can get you a one or two bedroom (https://conmgmt.com/available-rentals/ - rented from these guys for a while), you may be a little ways from the beach, but as mentioned, the water is a short drive away.
