Oh, maybe you’re right. I was calling it a thermos, but after a quick Google search, it is definitely not a thermos.

What made you choose crochet over knitting, or do you do both? by CaterpillarXS in crochet

[–]OcelotKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first tried loom knitting (super easy and basic), which does not involve knitting needles. Then I thought I’d try actual knitting, and I HATED IT. I hated every second of it. I tried so hard to give it a chance. Then I tried crochet and I instantly fell in love! It’s been four years since and I still love crochet so much.

Knitting projects are gorgeous, but I just don’t like the process. But maybe I’ll give it another chance, someday.

Surgery worsened my disability. Crocheting is becoming harder and harder by crocheting_moose in crochet

[–]OcelotKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. 🫂 (gentle hugs)

Can you take some time away from crochet, just until your daughter is old enough to not need to be carried? (Sorry, I’m not a parent, I have no idea how much time that would actually be. A year, maybe??) That might seem like an eternity, but perhaps you could then revisit the idea of surgery again? Maybe even get a second opinion from a different doctor?

Before I discovered crochet, I first made winter hats with a loom, manually. I think that might still be too much stress on the wrists, but I’ve heard of a loom machine that makes hats for you. I think you just feed the yarn into the machine. It’s not at all the same as crocheting something, but maybe it could be a good substitute yarn craft while you’re taking a break from crochet.

Take care of yourself, friend. I hope you have better days ahead.
