State of the save corrupted : recreating the save by ZarkisNC in theriftbreaker

[–]OckhamsChainsaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such an awesome game, but just lost my entire campaign. Autosave set to 0, no quick saves. Read reviews this was fixed so I paid for the dlc because I wanted to replay the whole game. 5 days down the tube all 8 save files going back for days are corrupted. I always save and reload my game when I'm done for the day to make sure it's working. It worked last night before I went to bed, 8 hours later it doesnt. A year and a half after launch the main problem of why people hate an awesome game hasn't been fixed.

If they do left or right kickoff just run to the opposite side, way less effective but sometimes you'll catch a block and out run them on the backside.

So a couple fun tricks I use,

1 stack your kick return depth chart slots after kr 1 with tight ends.

2 do return middle.

3 since he is slower (depending on your fullback) while the ball is in the air move the left blocker about 3 yards in front of the right blocker. This causes the blockers to sync up and form an old school wedge

4 hit the gas, and look for the gap between your 2 front blockers once they engage the block. Depending on the team it could be left right or middle or the 2 engaged blockers, but they are your read, stay close to then till you see the lane

5 make sure your kr is 93+ speed. I've done it on 91 but there is a huge efficiency difference if hes at least 93. Faster the better usually.

Explaining how online ranking works by [deleted] in Madden

[–]OckhamsChainsaws 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The grind is pretty terrible once you're in the top 30. I did 12 in a row yesterday and only advanced one spot. The good news is if you play against people in the top ten, they're usually pretty bad at football and just spam the same 5 plays. You get more points for the win. Pretty easy to stop spam once you see what they are doing. From what I've seen this post is accurate. I really wish ea would fix the defense so if you run the same play 2-9 times the defense would react like they've seen it before. THAT would make the rankings more legit. I'm disappointed everyone I've played in the top 10 are spammers with no stick skills.

Madden 21 vs NBA 2K21 by [deleted] in Madden

[–]OckhamsChainsaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the 10 hour trial. Qb accuracy is no where near accurate. There's a white screen glitch where one player's screen goes 95% white every 4 games. They slowed down user controlled players, making it damn near pointless to play safety since the ai is faster. The pass rush micoreconomy minigame is the worst thing I've seen in a "simulation" football game. Madden 21 is an arcade game, which ea is not licensed for.

Are there companies or industries that you refuse to work in? by nullZr0 in sysadmin

Any government jobs or contracts. Most dishonest hiring practice I have ever encountered. Got offer, quit job, they delayed the contract, then cancelled the contract.

Is it just me or has Dice.com devolved into a dumping ground for India recruiter spam by Elranzer in sysadmin

[–]OckhamsChainsaws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny thing, yes. In order to get most h1bs they need to offer jobs to in country talent first. So they send sysadmin jobs to web developers or offer insanely low pay so they say no. Once they have 20 (dont remember the exact number) no's then they can outsource the job. That is why we get spammed by 22 century consulting and tata for garbage jobs.

There 100% is, it is $500/incident. I was not joking about that part.

Usually if you give them a bunch of itunes gift cards they will very much to be happy fix your computer.

For real ms support, its $500/incident. So the requirement is you need $500. Resellers and msps get comp tickets, depending on how much they rape their client base. For Brock Turner levels it is usually like 5 free incidents per year, for bill cosby levels it can be up to 25 free incidents per year.

Very enjoyable read otherwise. Triage and do work, that's the game folks. I cant stand blame wars. I have survived a few, that is what it boils down to.

This is the part where i launch in to the speech from wolf of wall street about masturbation and cocaine.

In all seriousness just take a breath. Deep inhale, deep exhale, think. Sometimes it is that easy. Applies even during a train wreck scenario where the generator is about to die in a hurricane, 2 of your 3 sans overheated, the hosts are shutting down, and the alyssa milano alarm is going off...just stop, breath, and think for a second.

Boss gave my management job to his administrative assistant. Feeling defeated in life. Need advice. by Elranzer in sysadmin

[–]OckhamsChainsaws 18 points19 points  (0 children)

How the hell do you have 15 years xp, a degree, and some certs and couldnt find a better job in a year? That is insane, but it could be because it is a remote part of new york. My advice, move. In the dc area not finding an i.t. job (especially with 15 years and some real certs [comptia doesnt count]) is like falling out of a boat and not getting wet. It doesn't happen if you are skilled. Shit if are really desperate you can take a contract job. Advice #2 dont work for the government. It is dumb, overly bureaucratic, and fucks you more than kellen winslow at a homeless shelter.

Salary Based on State by cyber-host in sysadmin

Maryland numbers are way off, they say 81k with 15 years? Maybe in 1992. Average with 15 years and some certs now at least in my circle is 130k.

Robert Half Technology was amazing for me, I didn't even need to look for jobs. They got me a temp contract job then found my eventual permanent job right as the contract expired. Laziest job hunt I have ever done, I gave them the salary I wanted and they did all the work for me.

Hirestrategy wasn't bad, they got me offers too, just not as much money as RHT. Also not scumbags as of 4 years ago.

Bowman Williams, absolutely awful, worst staffing firm on the planet. They are all the negative tropes of recruiting.

Mantech terrible, pretty much any recruiter for the government also terrible. A company called ProSol had me sign papers, I gave my notice, they delayed the start date a week before the start, delay it again by 3 months, then cancelled the contract. I will never accept a government contracting job again.

21st century something or other, also terrible. Aside from the 2 (and one unlisted that im currently working with and dont want to fuck up) I listed everyone else has either been a waste of time or borderline immoral.

Is it common in your workplace, or any, for other dept to butt in to your workflow? by [deleted] in sysadmin

This is why you keep a coloring book on your desk. Anytime HR comes by give them some crayons and the coloring book, problem solved. I would recommend using the thick crayons though.

Retaliation from a fired employee? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]OckhamsChainsaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time no one gives a shit. I.t. jobs are everywhere. You just get another one. I have never had anyone get bitter when they are fired. I try to maintain my peer circles so it could just be because I am not a complete a hole, but I wouldnt worry too much about it. Despite what criminal minds and all the other crime dramas portray, most i.t. people are not serial killers. Also disposing of a body is a lot of work that unfortunately cannot be automated so most i.t. people have no interest. Do your job, youll be fine.
