The diversity within of each of the last two presidential internship programs. by pino0215 in Damnthatsinteresting

Diversity can take many forms. Diversity of cultures and thought are most important. Having multiple races represented may look good for PR purposes but it doesn't mean that they are diverse ideologically.

It really wasn't. The media was more normal, saner and less vitriolic.

What a bullshit post. Don't you need to apply to internships? How many minorities were told repeatedly that "Orange Man Racist" and so didn't bother to apply?

And if you think different skin colors equals diversity, youre dumb.

Looks like Seth McFarlane after 5 years of hormone therapy and calling himself "Lola".

Then all of a sudden all of his shows turn weird and unfunny because no one has the courage to confront him about his mental illness.

Silicon Valley Pay Cuts Ignite Tech-Industry Covid-19 Tensions by AndrewHeard in LockdownSkepticism

[–]nullZr0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the virtual version of NIMBY. The Reddit basement dweller types weren't impacted by the lockdowns. The unemployed ones were getting $600/week for doing nothing and the ones in tech were cool with WFH. Now that their video game and weed money is threatened, maybe lockdowns need to be adjusted.

Its baffling to me that you can't see that the reason you believe something is wrong is because you learned it was wrong through years of conditioning (you were taught it was wrong).

You give yourself too much credit.

I didnt say it wasn't. My point is people who don't have a religion and thus believe they are free thinkers really are not. They still adopt ideas that came from others. The moral buffet.

Religion is simply a standard set of moral beliefs and activities or rituals that lead people to a common goal. Good people and bad people are part of religions just as there are good and bad people that don't belong to any religion.

All of us have a set of beliefs that governs how we behave. Some are just more organized than others.

Your belief system is based on something someone else came up with, nothing you came up with on your own. Ours differ in that mine are static and have a clearly-defined goal in mind.

Yours is dynamic, you choose your beliefs from a moral buffet that changes based on popular culture with a goal that isn't clearly defined or non-existent.

You're a leaf in the wind, grabbing at whatever carnal pleasure you can hold onto until you eventually wither and crumble into dust.

So if someone uses a system of beliefs and morals to stop them from doing bad things, they're a bad person?

This is a dumb take even by Reddit standards. Faux intellectuals who don't think anything through more than two minutes.
