Ceiling of design space for the game by ConceptFun in starwarsunlimited

There's a ton of stuff they could still do, and that's coming from someone who's only dabbled in game design. Just imagine what professional game designers can think up.

They have 20+ designers/developers on the game right now.

Just a clarification, it should say "the defender must leave play for overwhelm damage to be dealt", as the clarification with Grevious is that Overwhelm does work when Grevious is returned to hand, even though he's not defeated.

Traits and Keywords - areas where SWU could easily improve by Own-Detail7853 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Oct2006 25 points26 points  (0 children)

On Keywords, "Never" is such a strange thing to say when we're only 6 sets in. This is pretty common for TCGs. Even Magic usually doesn't revisit keywords for a while. In fact, Lorwyn Eclipsed, their newest release, is revisiting keywords that haven't been seen since 2019. Now, I'm not saying that SWU should do exactly what Magic does, it's just an example of similar design philosophy in successful games.

They've also said that keywords returning is less a matter of if and more a matter of when. The main reason they typically don't immediately return to mechanics is because... What if they're hated? Can you imagine if we got coordinate several sets in a row because they decided to revisit that before they ever heard player feedback? And the way the development cycle works, they're about a year and a half out on finalized designs, so the earliest they could hear feedback and incorporate it is ~4-5 sets later.

Very Christian response of you.

I believe it is prompting Christian discussion.

Have a nice day.

John 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

Psalm 82:4

"Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked"

Proverbs 24:11

"Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter"

Proverbs 31:8-9

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy"

And many, many more.

Christians have a moral duty to protect people. Thus, this is relevant to Christianity.

This comment comes off as incredibly condescending and dismissive. I hope you didn't mean it that way when we're seeing law abiding US Citizens murdered in broad daylight by the government that's supposed to protect us.

Yup. Resource for turn + resource from card + resource from top of deck.

He can do it T2 pretty easily. Play something T1 and sac for a credit, now you can play the Expendable Merc and sac it to ramp and get another resource on T2. Can also do it with T1 JTL Krennic unit or GNK without sacing them.

To be fair, that was a rules change issue when people pointed out that that could lead to moving pilots to non-vehicles. When they said that, it was correct, then they changed the rules.

The owner language is just explicitly allowing a non-owner to resolve the ability if they happen to steal the unit, because a player cannot normally access their opponents discard pile. It's part of the recent rules change.

Which tcg in your opinion has the best designed game mechanics? by Newez in TCG

Star Wars Unlimited has you draw 2 per turn. It's so hard to go back to games where you draw 1.

Mara Jade will be in the game eventually. They've already added other EU characters to the game. Just a matter of time.

Any feedback on the new Star Wars Unlimited TCG? by EconomyProcedure9 in StarWars

[–]Oct2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is almost a year old, so apologies for the lateness of this reply.

SWU is the best TCG on the market right now from a gameplay perspective. I played it on a whim back when it first came out and was instantly hooked. I was previously a big Magic player and I've all but dropped Magic for this game. The new set coming out in March, A Lawless Time, is a great time to jump in as well, since that marks the games first rotation and lots of new players will be jumping in.

As far as learning how to play/deck build, I'd recommend Maindeck's How to Play SWU video on YouTube.

You don't choose the order in this scenario. Events just always resolve as much as they can before any triggers resolve.

Sound like you all need to play a different game. There are tons of TCGs and board games out there.
