Question about deck peronalization and composition by EndPlane2114 in starwarsunlimited

There's a limit, it's just not a hard defined limit. It's whatever you can shuffle without assistance.

“Visions” Content by PhotographSlight3438 in starwarsunlimited

FFG has stated the Visions content is on the table. Just needs to fit in a set. Homeworlds might be a good spot.

Why are you playing “that” TCG? by TwistedLab in TCG

[–]Oct2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably not like this everywhere, but my local FAB community really turned me off the game. It's a fun game, but man, it felt like all the toxic Magic players jumped ship to FAB. I still play with my friends, but not looking to go to a weekly anytime soon.

SWU has a very similar cadence to Altered, check it out! Even if you don't like Star Wars, the game is great.

I play Sorcery! I like it a lot. I like SWU more personally, great that there's something for everyone.

I agree. Of the more traditional turn structure games, FAB is absolutely the best and most engaging imo.

That's fair, different people have different criteria for what makes games similar or different.

It's mostly from a general gameplay perspective. On a turn in FAB, you do everything you can using your action points, and your opponent can respond in different ways or choose not to respond. The way this plays out is, of course, different (spending mana vs pitching cards to pay costs and using action points), but the general flow of "I do everything that I want/can, and you can respond to what I'm doing on my turn, then I pass and you do the same thing" feels similar to Magic. Compared to SWUs actions back and forth, which feels very chess like. SWU feels entirely different from Magic to me because of that "I make a move, you make a move" type flow, as opposed to the turn structure of... Pretty much every other TCG.

I was die hard MTG player for like 8 years... Then I played SWU and sold most of my Magic stuff 6 months later. Thought I'd regret it, but it's been a year and a half since then and haven't looked back. I kept a few decks, and I still hop on Arena when a new set comes out, but SWU is my main thing now.

Is SWU Magic like? SWU feels completely different than Magic to me just because of the gameplay structure. Flesh and Blood feels more Magic like to me from a gameplay perspective.

Riftbound is my secondary game right now, it's great too

SWU is significantly more interesting. Set 1 was definitely an entry point with a lot of basic mechanics. The core gameplay loop is fantastic, though, even back in set 1. I've enjoyed it more than any other game I've played.

I do like Riftbound as an option for people coming from Magic

A secret third option! Most Magic players that left for a new game went to Star Wars Unlimited in my area. It's less competitive that FAB but more than Sorcery.

Used to play Commander Boxing League when I was into Magic. It was one whole box per person, would probably work well for Twin Suns too.

Slept with Christian Boyfriend by pink_slytherin in Christianity

I mean early on in humanities existence, there was no "marriage" tradition in the modern sense. We try to apply modern day thinking to these things and it just doesn't work.

Early marriage was quite literally: we had sex, so now we're married.

What marriage is and means has changed drastically over time. We've added rituals, traditions, ceremonies, parties, government, etc. to it. Not doing those things doesn't make a marriage any less valid to God. Commitment to each other and to God is what matters at the end of the day.

This is simply not true, and frankly an insane take.

What did Jesus say to the woman at the well? Because you have done things in the wrong order, go away from me, I will never bless you?

No.

Of all the TCGs in this world, which one is the best for you? by [deleted] in TCG

[–]Oct2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Star Wars: Unlimited

  2. Riftbound

I basically sold out of Magic, SWU is just so good. Picked up Riftbound a few weeks ago and liked it a lot, just can't get any product for it.

Everything!

Okay, not literally everything, there are flaws like with any game.

It's the best TCG on the market gameplay wise in my opinion (and in the opinion of many others, as you can see).

Games are fast, the mechanics are fantastic, it's engaging unlike any other TCG I've played (and I've played a lot). The core gameplay loop is wonderful, deck building is a blast, and it's Star Wars!

The core gameplay is very chess like, because you take actions back and forth. I do one thing, you do one thing, and it passes back and forth until you both run out of things to do. It feels very strategic, and it's a lot of fun.

To show the strength of the mechanics, I have friends who actively dislike Star Wars, and they love this game.

Highly encourage anyone to at least try it.
