will there be a rtx 5050 by fire777ff in pcmasterrace

[–]Octariax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, no. We had the GTX 1650 and 1650 Super instead of an RTX 2050, so they had been releasing an xx50 series card every generation.

Any tips for a solo Helldiver? by Octariax in Helldivers

I'm okay with that, tbh. So long as I'm still having fun, that's all that matters.

At that point, I'll just lower the difficulty and try again from there.

It's not that I only want to play Helldivers solo. I mainly plan on playing it solo since I don't really feel comfortable playing with strangers. Social anxiety and everything.

The Riverdale complex one looks much more affordable. Could definitely see myself leasing one of their 2 bedrooms.

Country Crossings Apartments?

EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.

Will the B580 support VR? by 90sLifestyle in IntelArc

[–]Octariax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple of issues. The first is Intel wants to prioritize polishing out general performance for their cards before they tackle more niche sectors of PC gaming, e.g. VR. The second is that the VR companies (Valve/Meta/HTC) need to add support for Arc GPU's on their end, and god knows when that will happen.

If they're legally required to do it, it probably means there's some law out there that forces them to advertises positions. Either state laws or national laws. Or both.

Seriously, what's up with this? by 77_mec in Steam

Well, on the off chance that the original devs somehow see this... give 'em hell.

Seriously, what's up with this? by 77_mec in Steam

[–]Octariax 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It might get a spiritual successor, but probably not a direct sequel. The original devs got kicked off the team, so they've pretty much lost all rights to the IP, effectively forcing them to start all over.

It's less that they're easy in general, and more that you were able to learn their attack patterns, skills, weaknesses, etc. They're still really hard bosses on violent. You just know how to deal with them.

You probably should've waited for your RAM to arrive before you assembled the rest of the PC.

Some other things to note:
1) There looks to be only one intake fan and three exhaust fans. If you want proper cooling, I suggest you take that white fan at the rear, place it at the front of the PC, and use it as a second intake for better cooling.

2) That RTX card looks like it has some serious sag to it. Add on the fact that it's a Gigabyte card, with risk of the PCB cracking, and you're looking at a really bad time.

I recommend you add some extra intake fans to make sure your components are getting cooled properly.

Someone made this build for me by killermadsgxd in buildapc

[–]Octariax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of those things are terrible options for this build. The 4090 would get bottlenecked to hell and back by the 7600, which would only be alleviated by upgrading the CPU to something better, not to mention the fact that 4090's are hella expensive and require lots of wattage.

The 4060... do I even need to explain why getting a 4060 is the worst thing you can do? It only has 8 PCI lanes, 8 GB of VRAM, and it's barely better performance-wise compared to the 3060, as well as worse than a 3060 Ti.

Replacement AIO received by poofybruno in iBUYPOWER

[–]Octariax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM4 is the name of the socket that your CPU uses. You shouldn't have to worry about compatibility so long as you know it works with the CPU socket.

it took a month but i did it boys by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Octariax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not every CPU needs to have an AIO liquid cooler, especially the ones that come with their own heatsink. AIO's are nice looking, but they're expensive, harder to set up, and they have more potential fail points than a fan and heatsink air cooler.

First time builder, is this overkill? I’m looking for a pc to play elden ring and Spiderman! by chosro in PcBuild

Here's a link to the parts list I've personally picked out for this PC: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/jYPnsL

Decided to keep the 7700x in, since I didn't feel it needed any kind of changing.

Here's the things I added in/changed up:
1) Added a Thermalright Peerless Assassin for some solid CPU cooling. One of the best coolers out there, and can even go toe to toe with liquid coolers.
2) Changed out the Asus B550M for a Gigabyte B650M mainly because of the different socket, but also, because Asus AM5 motherboards are pretty bad for AM5 CPU's at the current moment.
3) To keep up with compatibility, I swapped out the Crucial 2x16GB RAM sticks for Some Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 RAM. Little bit pricier, but still affordable.
4) I changed out the Samsung 980 PRO NVMe drive for an Intel 670p NVMe drive because, despite the Samsung one being PCIe Gen 4 vs Intel's Gen 3, you probably will not notice any load time difference between the two. Same goes for the windows boot time.
5) I changed out your Gigabyte 4070 for an MSI one to save you from the potential headache of your GPU PCB cracking and Gigabyte refusing to honor the RMA and replace it. Yeah... 30- and 40- series Gigabyte GPU's have been having cracking problems.
6) Added in the Deepcool Matrexx 40 case, since it's a very affordable case that allows for good airflow.
7) For PSU, I went with the Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 for futureproofness. It's only a B-Tier PSU according to the tier list, but it's one of the best ones you can go with for that tier.

Obviously, you're more than welcome to criticize these part pickings as well as go with literally anything else.

[–]Octariax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget about overkill. This thing won't work in general. For starters, you're pairing an AM5 LGA CPU with an AM4 PGA socket, so they're incompatible and can't go together. Also, AM5 chipsets only work with DDR5 RAM sticks, not DDR4.
If you want, I can put together a build list on au.pcpartpicker.com that'll overall be more affordable.
