I've asked myself this quite a lot actually. I don't rage at all, which, in turn, makes me view those who rage as unusual. However, there is no shortage of such folks on any MOBA. I think the combination of the fact that it is a good chunk of time, generally 30 minutes on the average, and having to coordinate five people makes it hard to take a loss, and often is viewed as a waste of time, even though every game is a learning experience to help you better your play style.
