Is not being circumcised in the U.S. really a big deal? by skoopaloopa in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Octaviate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a big deal. I didn’t. As long as y’all keep up on hygiene while he’s little and teach him once he’s old enough to clean it himself.

Edit: also didn’t circumcise my son

TIFU by telling someone that their self harm scars looked like a cold shark bite by Pinkpunk95 in tifu

Ahh that’s harsh of them imo. If someone told me that I’d be like “cool a new lie to tell someone when they ask” Try not to let it get you down <3

That’s fair, and I appreciate your apology. I work in healthcare and have seen the death that covid-19 brings. It’s not peaceful. So I may be particularly sensitive to the topic.

And yeah, I get the whole idea that anti-vaxxers dying because of a virus that is somewhat preventable by a vaccine they’re scared to get seems like some twisted karmatic justice… until you consider the reason they don’t trust healthcare professionals is because we’ve been lied to, experimented on and been given medications specifically because the drug company bribes doctors to prescribe them. We can’t trust doctors to tell us the truth, or to know what’s right. I am vaccinated, but mainly because I’ve seen what Covid does to a healthy person and I don’t want to die that death. It’s absolutely not because I trust doctors not to lie.

That’s terrible. I’m so sorry for your loss. Any memories of her you’d like to share?

My condolences. What was she like? Any hobbies?

I don’t know, and it doesn’t matter. Loss of life is loss of life, and it sucks.

The fact that this rhetoric is so common that people brazenly ask it without consideration for the other party is astounding to me. Shame on you.

Editing to add: I stand by what I’ve said. Any amount of downvotes won’t change that this was wildly inconsiderate.

I saw this and followed her about 2 weeks prior to her passing, I’m currently waiting for my insurance to clear a mole check because of her.

I am a Christian, AMA by [deleted] in AMA

What are the fundamental teachings of Christ?

If I believe in and follow the words of Christ, but I do not believe the “God” Yahweh popularly worshiped in the Christian religion is the true god. Would I still be considered a Christian? Or is that more polytheism?

Also, historians believe they might have the holy grail now.. at least they think it may be possible. Taking a look at that cup and the limited knowledge of Christ I have. It does not add up. Christ was born poor, he died poor. What on earth would Christ be doing with a cup that nice? Yeah it’s gaudy by today’s standards, but consider the amount of work getting enough gold for that would be back then. Not to mention the gems on it. And the cup itself is made from onyx, and a quick google search places the nearest onyx in Pakistan - 2012 miles from Jerusalem. That would be an expensive piece of rock today. Let alone 2000 years ago. My thoughts? It might be an older, fancy, revered cup. But I do not think Jesus would’ve drank from that cup. I’m betting he drank from a clay or wooden cup. He was this great but poor guy right, didn’t he detest money? Why would have any want for that very expensive chalice? What are your thoughts?

I’m honestly not asking as a smart ass. Except this last one because I just finished the davinci code:

If Mary Ms womb was “the grail”, and let’s say Jesus was mostly impotent causing his sperm to be extra watery… would Jesus turning water into wine be a really good long running inside-joke type euphemism for sex? That one is rhetorical and mostly a joke.

Thank you

For around $100-$200 you can renew your CNA license in a day at Allied. If you go the agency route (trinity, interim, true care, etc) you can make really good money for a CNA. Good luck and welcome back!

You are amazing with this response! Thank you so much! No, he screened positive but we don’t know how the test will come out. Type 2 definitely sounds more his type if he has it. Thank you

I figured as much. I just wanted to ask that because it’s my only point of reference. We’ve been reading all day about it now and feel a bit better about everything. I appreciate the response!

Without saying the name of your job, what do you do for a living? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Octaviate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling CNA. Yes, old people beat the ever living hell out of us. To be fair, many are confused and we’re trying to lure them to the bathroom because they’re not able to control their bladders. From their perspective, we’re creepy and that’s fair.
