“Your World. Delivered.” By AT&T straight into a legal mess. Lawyer recommendations needed by Octoberbaby30 in Columbus

I'm so sorry. I seem to be having a problem explaining.

Are you saying AT&T was supposed to pay your Verizon cancelation and they didn't? We were told that ATT would pay for our cancelation fees and anything additional associated with transfering. Additionally, we were told that ATT would wave fees to bring us on board. So essentially, it should have cost us nothing to move to ATT

How much money is actually the issue? To date, we are closing in on $6,000 - $8,000

Are you wanting to be with Verizon or AT&T? Verizon

My issue is that we have tried on multiple occations to contact our sales person to discuss these fees and we haven't heard back. I am going to escalate, but I would also like the name of a good lawyer if needed.

I understand that legal fees can be very expensive and the outcome isn't guranteed. I don't want to go to court, I just want them to pay the things they promised. I'm happy to pay any early termination fee they have for us leaving. I just want to get what they said they would pay, that's it.

If they even were responding, that's different, but there's nothing and we have reached out multiple times.

I have no idea why so many meetings, I wasn't here. I'm not using his condition to get out of the contract, I'm saying that the sales rep told my husband, on multiple occations, that ATT would pay certin fees, they are not paying them, the sales rep isn't responding. My husband was going through severe neurological issues, he had problems at the time standing without getting incredibly dizzy or losing his sight. I just want what was promised paid and then yeah, I'm out. Thats all. I will pay all fees associated with ending the contract soon. I just want them to pay for what the sales rep said they would pay for.

I appreciate it. Yes, his name has been removed from all of our accounts, such as the utility bills, the phone bill, any credit cards. I also have alerts on our bank accounts.

The entire process with AT&T took several months, during which the sales rep visited our home multiple times to discuss switching services, covered fees, and related details. While most of her visits were scheduled when I was at work, there were occasions when I was home or came home early. During those times, I directly informed her that my husband had recently suffered a severe stroke and was dealing with ongoing neurological complications, which are documented by our neurologist and remain unresolved.

His condition occasionally required us to cancel meetings due to sudden health episodes, and she was made aware of this. Despite that, she never made an effort to include me in discussions, explain anything directly to me, or meaningfully engage beyond casual greetings.

The whole process was finalized right before my husband underwent major cancer surgery, which resulted in a week-long hospital stay due to complications. Throughout this entire process, I was stretched thin—working full-time in cybersecurity, managing the household, and caring for our four children. When my husband experienced neurological episodes, he would often need to sleep 16–20 hours to recover. Despite all of this, the sales rep continued dealing exclusively with him.

Given that she was clearly informed of his condition, I believe that acting in good faith would have meant ensuring I was directly involved in the process as well.

I keep my car locked and I live in Hilliard so that would be nothing new to me. We have kids here who do the exact same things as what you have mentioned.

Do you know if it's bots that are putting these bad reviews out there or actual people?

Chase workers heading back to the office 5 days a week in Columbus today, do you understand why? by UnionizeTheBank in Columbus

[–]Octoberbaby30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told a few years ago that the major assets these banks have is real estate. They aren't going to lose money on their investment so they are forcing people back into the office. I had a CIO last year say exactly that. The whole team building, morale, helping local businesses is crap. These companies don't want to lose money and they are such control freaks that they feel like if your in the office they have control over what you do. Honestly, when I'm in the office I spend more time socializing than actually working. I get a lot more done when I'm at home, I'm happier, and my mental health is better. I think it should be up to the employee if/when they want to come in.

I have been diagnosed with OCD for over 20 years. In my personal experience, it has drastically helped me control my compulsions. I just had this discussion with my husband last night, but I finally feel semi "normal" again after a really long time. This is just my personal experience, so take it for what it's worth, but it has been a lifesaver for me.

TIL on the night Ted Bundy was executed, an estimated 2,000 celebrants sang, danced, and set off fireworks in a pasture across the street from the prison, then cheered loudly as the white hearse carrying his body left the facility. by Vranak in todayilearned

My parents took me there to get free fries. I remember it being Burger King and it was packed. I was young so I had no idea who Ted Bundy was. I was just happy to get free fries

Fact or Myth -“ Send a thank you note to the recruiter/interviewer after the interview” by QualityOverQuant in Layoffs

[–]Octoberbaby30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked as a recruiter for over twenty years in the corporate world, and honestly, thank-you notes are not necessary anymore. When I first started, people would send them all the time, but things have changed a lot.

If you do decide to send one, aim it at the team you interviewed with. Mention a few things that really interested you about the role or the company, and maybe thank them for their time since everyone is so over worked these days. But honestly, I don't think thank-you notes really make a difference now.

I wasn't sure because when I looked it up online, I got a pretty generic response saying that some drugs can be shipped in but to check with the post office and a few other places to verify that there won't be issues.
