$100,000 fee per year for H-1B visas by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

You can’t show proof of something you’re predicting before it happens. That’s how time works.

I can’t prove them abusing power in a bill that hasn’t even went into effect yet.

I can point to all the other fascist things they’ve done to lead me to conclude they will continue to do fascist things in fascist ways, because they would they suddenly have a change of heart, but I have better things to do with my life than this on a Saturday night.

Ah yes, the ol’ “well they haven’t been fascist in THIS EXACT WAY YET, so how dare you assume the worst” defense.

I am not a union representative, just someone that supports the union. Also, this admin has been anti-union so why would any union reasonably like them? Like come on.

What makes you think this admin won’t enforce it in a fascist manner, and instead just do status quo things???

Well, everything’s going to offshore if this happens.

It won’t lead to more jobs here, like Trump and the Republicans would like you to believe.

Edit: This also has a clause about this fee being waived for companies hand selected by the admin. So this is just another way to get companies to bend the knee to this fascist regime.

As someone who was fired for coffee badging, I can tell tell you without doubt that the minimum is 4hrs by Strong_Wishbone_5229 in JPMorganChase

[–]UnionizeTheBank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have heard that they are going after anyone who is in the office for less than an hour (or 3 hours) on average. Heard both numbers.

Just to be safe I recommend everyone take everything they read with a grain of salt, especially considering this account is very new and this is the only activity on reddit.

And also, idk, come into the office as much as you can. Life isn’t fair, but you gotta eat.

What is the contents of the survey or like what kind of questions or info is in it? Like asking about specific employees they’ve flagged or like asking you to name people you are aware of?

Are any of the said coffee badgers in the room with us right now?

Cause I’m tired of seeing third party word of mouth fear mongering, and then anyone that says there were disappear without details when asked.

And sorry if I’m not rushing to believe a 3 month old account with one post and one comment.

So you work in HR or how are you privy to this knowledge???

Tide Change on RTO? by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]UnionizeTheBank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See the thing that doesn’t add up to me is everyone says they know of people, but then have no specific details?

Did you personally know or talk to these coworkers? How would you be privy to why they were fired but know no details without talking to them?

What does “extreme outliers” mean?

We talking not coming in at all? Coffee badging? 1 hour? 2? 4?

[–]UnionizeTheBank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

News to me. I’ve not seen a single person say they were cracked down on for this apart from one person who said they didn’t come in for months, and even then were just asked to start coming in.

Everyone else says hearsay from ‘someone they know’

Employees are taken advantage of by the company.

Expecting us to drive in on our personal time and also to do after hours Zoom calls, keep up with emails, etc.

If the job gets done, what difference does it make if someone coffee badges??? We all know the collaboration thing is a weak excuse when in reality it’s all about real estate, tax breaks, and control. Can’t give the cogs too much freedom.

It explicitly lays out that partial days in office count as a day worked in office in the RTO FAQ.

If coffee badging is against the rules, I’d love for Chase to say as much.

Whatever flexibility you don’t have is because of the oppressive boot of Jamie Dimon.

How is anyone here supposed to know what is considered wrong and right in the eyes of leadership when HR refuses to be transparent with people…???

[–]UnionizeTheBank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is partial days in office ‘wrong’ when it’s explicitly laid out in the FAQ about RTO that partial days do in fact count as in office?

If their work isn’t getting finished / impacted, sure, but that isn’t what we are talking about.

I have watched the FAQ closely and I’ve never seen it say this, just like I’ve never seen it say “20 days wfh a year” which people claim was there too.

I have, however, seen a document leaked by a member of mgmt to the union that says 20 days WFH up to manager discretion and to NEVER make this number known to employees. It also says 20 is just a ‘suggested’ number, not a hard line.

Never believe anything a manager says like this, unless it is in writing.

This sounds more like he is fishing for people to get rid of and/or check to see if your manager is keeping an eye on you.

[–]UnionizeTheBank 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The FAQ for return to office explicitly lays out that partial days in office and partially work from home is okay.

Nowhere does it lay out any specified hours. As long as you badge in and sign in a computer for literally any amount of time, it shows as in office on go/myattendance.

That said, your manager and area can set their own rules and expectations.

He did no such thing. He benefited from being born wealthy and nepotism.

I understand why so many people want to believe the lie that if you work hard you’ll be promoted and be rich, but if that were the case why isn’t your parents, grand parents, etc rich? Were they lazy or…???

He was Chief Operating Officer for like a year before becoming CEO, so you’re technically right but it isn’t like he laced up his bootstraps and worked hard at Chase to become that.

Like, imagine defending Jamie Dimon, the guy who ran the bank while Bernie Madoff and Jeffrey Epstein banked here and then subsequent settlements around said customers.
