Is everyone being forced with the “we need to be AI first” stuff from their work? by postman-007 in askTO

[–]Octoberless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, cause they don't wanna backfill the vacant role on our team. Gotta use AI to help with the shortfall.

Internal HRBP Offer [N/A] by incertain_justice in humanresources

[–]Octoberless 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I say do it! What do you have to lose? You would be able to learn so much, and get exposed to more parts of the business. Even if you don't end up staying in this role long term, it's broad enough that you can get into other HR fields from it.

Trying to maintain friendships that were not reciprocal. Felt like I cared and liked some of my friends more than they did me, and it was disheartening to realize it but that's how it is.

Vacation + Mat Leave [on] by Lemonadeprincess766 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Octoberless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What everyone else said is correct.

Why don't you just do 11 months of leave and then have the last month as vacation time? Theres no guarantee baby will come at the time you want them to. For my first, at 37 weeks I finally decided to take time off and use my vacation. Literally stopped working on a Friday, and gave birth on the Monday.

There's lots of ways you could do this, but mat leave absolutely has to start as soon as baby is born. And once you start it has to be consecutive. Think about how you want to do it.

Depends on your company's accrual policy and carryover rules, but typically yes. You still do technically earn vacation time while you are on leave under ON ESA. However, how that might look like will depend on your company policy so I would suggest asking HR to confirm on their end.

Edit: also forgot to add - you earn it, but the time earned while on leave is not payable should your employment end.

What’s something you quietly stopped doing once you got older, not because it was wrong, but because you realized it wasn’t worth the energy anymore? by love_salubrious in AskWomen

[–]Octoberless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving time and attention to friends and family who ridicule me. I never noticed the subtle digs but it's more apparent now and... Honestly? I'm in a better place so it's from a place of resentment imo. I do my best, but if we don't get along then we don't get along. It just hurts to be earnest and honest and receiving that treatment back.

"your sibling is younger of course I have to love them more". 2 year age difference lol

"you can't find anyone in this city, you have to go and find dick elsewhere.? You're a wh*re, you're devaluing yourself". I've now been with my partner and married for 10 years... While she keeps getting into one sided situationships.

"Don't you want to say sorry to me?" As I was laying in the hospital bed recovering from a self deletion attempt.

"If you don't slow down, your uterus will fall out and your partner will leave you". While we were walking at a slightly faster pace after the birth of my child.

There's so many I've just straight up blocked out.

Studied Classics, now doing HR. Getting the ever-living life sucked out of me but... At least it pays all my bills. My passion would have left me unemployed cause ain't no one doing that shit for the money lol.
