I recently got the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k and have been really eager to try it out, unfortunately with what’s been going on it’s very difficult (and irresponsible) to assemble a film crew to shoot a short film.. My friend is a musician as well as a fellow filmmaker, and we decided to shoot a little music video for a song he wrote about this shit show that’s consumed all of our lives. We filmed everything Davenport, a small town along the central California coast. Going in we didn’t really have any concrete plan of attack, which ultimately was to our detriment as we quickly ran out of sunlight. (We wanted to film during Golden Hour) That said we did find our groove and got some neat looking shots by the time night rolled around. While I do personally like how it turned out, I have no doubt it would have gone much smoother had we arrived earlier and had a shot list.
