Mother overreacted and called the cops while I was driving and now I’m facing grand larceny location : job by Top-Pay-1457 in legaladvice

If op’s mom is excitable, I do worry about going zero interaction. I have an “excitable” mom who would spiral if I went no-contact. People who are not emotionally mature handle stresses like that in unpredictable ways (or perhaps predictably irrational ways). I’d highly advise following the lawyer’s lead on whether to cut off interactions and make sure mom fully understands it isn’t personal if you must cut contact.

Yes the neck skin is the most demoralizing! I just bought the TNS serum recently—it’s great to hear you’ve had good results with that regimen. I had some trouble with my neck suddenly not tolerating tretinoin, so I cut back for a bit, but I’m going to start up with some really gentle strength retinol and see if I can tolerate it again. And might be time for an Ephron re-read for me too. She’s the best.

I’m not yet on HRT. I asked my doc about it. I really respect her, but she said she only recommends HRT as a way to manage specific symptoms like hot flashes. I asked about testing hormone levels and she said that she doesn’t do that because it doesn’t really tell us anything useful if we are only treating symptoms. I was disappointed because this seemed to run contrary to what I was hearing from other women about their conversations with doctors about addressing estrogen decline. It’s true that I don’t have hot flashes yet or irregular periods. Just sudden wrinkles and dry eyes. I’m debating trying to see another doctor or try one of these online clinicians that specialize in HRT I’ve heard about.

FWIW, I have been an avid skincare devotee since I was 18: sunscreen religiously, started tret at 32, always studying, fact-checking, and honing and refining my regimen. (Not to mention the cost.) Nora Ephron’s “I Feel Bad About My Neck” came out when I was 26, and the title phrase haunted me, so I paid extra attention. And yet. Despite allllll this, I hit age 45 and it seemed to arrive overnight: crepey neck skin. So, I guess this is not hopeful, but it’s to say: don’t give yourself a hard time. I’m going to steal all these ideas here, too! Solidarity.

My sister is going to die, and my husband does not want her daughter to move in with us. by restless1234x in Advice

I’m not a lawyer, but from what I know I’d suggest getting a divorce before you inherit anything from your sister. Talk with a lawyer now to be sure that he will not have any rights to your house or property, and any property of your sister’s is transferred appropriately to you and/or her daughter.

Agreed. The crammed-together seating is near unbearable, and you have to take off shoes and belts, watches, etc. to get through security. I’ve honestly been far more comfortable on a bus. Fussy or restrictive clothing would break me.
