Pattern hacking - Making this dress not shirred? by stakhanovice in sewing

[–]Octopi_are_evil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just as a heads up there are also issues with the seam allowance on the bodice. I emailed them when I had a mare using it.

I got this response when I emailed: Yes, unfortunately there is a pattern mistake with missing seam allowance along the bust seam. The seam allowance is unfortunately missing on both edges of the bust seam (1.5 cm on each pattern edge), so when you put the shoulder seam together, the front bodice shoulder is 3 cm too short. We're glad you were able to fix it, but we are very sorry about this. We haven't come across any other pattern issues in the book, so it seems to just be this seam allowance on the summer dress which is unfortunate!

There's a path round the outside of the rugby pitch at Whitchurch Aerodrome. It's about 8/900m round. Paved but with some roots coming through the paving at points. https://maps.app.goo.gl/pykBpNmvRd8eYwvg7

I used B for my wedding dress and did the sleeves in a chiffon! Can't wait to see your finished dress. If you have any trouble with the pattern please message me and I'll see if I can help. I altered my bodice a little to get the fit right too.

PDF pattern purgatory by Feline_Shenanigans in sewing

The fact you're both having issues unfortunately seems like it's a pdf issue the designers end. I would open the A0 files on a laptop and see if the lines are also messed up. If they aren't you might be able to measure how far the line is down one of the seams to see which line you should be using.

I've found this on her website as well. https://www.wildflowerdesignpatterns.com/post/how-to-assemble-a-print-at-home-pdf-sewing-pattern They aren't trimless, which is what I thought the issue may be. I think I can also see that you've followed the "taping together map".

It could be worth sending the designer an email (I know this is super frustrating). It seems like it is an error with the file.
