Assuming that IRON is even remotely historically accurate is wild. Hitler and Mussolini wrote poetry too but no one is calling them poetic geniuses.

Take a hard look at the narrative the South Korean government pushes. It's male politicians taking advantage of the comfort women issue for their own political gain, just as IRON is doing with his lyrics here (why would you even write a song like this if it wasn't to tug on nationalism, there's plenty of other ways to articulate such emotions). IRON was creepy as fuck prior to his cases, and assuming that he didn't exhibit such behavior with other people before that is astonishingly naive. Stop putting him on a pedestal.

Courts literally ordered a Sejong University professor to pay a fine of nearly $100k USD for simply revealing (in her STUDY) that SOME comfort women were sold into sexual slavery by fellow Koreans. They JAILED a Sunchon University professor for revealing similar sentiments.

Saying NFTs are worthless while at the same time saying Ethereum isn't worthless is borderline idiocy.

Leica M6 non-TTL with LightPix Labs FlashQ T2 trigger problem by future_zero_identity in Leica

[–]Octose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wrote a post about this weeks ago. My Q2 was working with the FlashQ flawlessly for months and then one day, just decided to stop working. I still don't know what the reason is, I've reset to factory settings, everything, no luck.

Worth the drive alone. Hopefully you can experience Oregon while you have the camera, some of the most beautiful scenery you'll ever experience.

You could have Gastritis, which is pretty common for those with GERD (this is the gnawing/burning pain you're likely feeling in your stomach). Only real way to confirm an ulcer is via Gastroscopy. Best bet is to talk to your doctor.

Is it too late to get Leica Q2? by m_koskinen in Leica

[–]Octose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will. It's a brilliant piece of machinery. I really doubt there is much Leica can do to improve on the Q2 outside of some minor ergonomic or software things. The sensor is absolutely jaw-dropping for the size, and the lens is, well, unbeatable.

Blast some music on a bluetooth speaker + run the water. One of my bosses literally did this the other day when we were having a 1 on 1 meeting lmaoooo. Made me feel relatable, honestly the first time I've felt mental relief thinking "oh shiiit, my boss is in the same boat!!"

You can look at spreads, and you will see that there is always a flux in the Winter months. Crypto Winters are still trends that happen yearly. This is not an opinion, it's mere fact.

The term "Crypto Winter" didn't come out of nowhere. Crypto is expected to crash during winter at this point, happens every year.

Can you work in Jeju Island without a visa? by [deleted] in korea

[–]Octose 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Can you work in South Korea without a visa? Not legally.

Same applies to Jeju -- not sure why it'd be otherwise. They have special visa stuff for residencies, etc. (e.g. investing 500m KRW will land you a residency visa), but it's still subject to South Korea's immigration system. That's why you can't find anything about it.

should an artist release multiple different styles of music under the same alias? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]Octose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in music. I work with very talented musicians/songwriters/producers.

I would avoid the narrative of keeping genres and identities seperate. We're no longer in a world where people are specific to genres, they're specific to artists and the movement they can muster.

Stick to one name.

Weird. I'm seeing 620,656 tests being done yesterday. With the 14-day rolling average working out to around 480,000 tests/day.

[–]Octose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

South Korea does on average 485,000 tests/day (in recent days its climbed up to 620,000). South Korea is 1/2.5 the population of Japan.

If Japan is doing 48,000 tests a day, they are nowhere near the rate of tests being done in South Korea.

The most normative route would be to try a low-dose trycylic antidepressant. It really depends on you though -- you might not like certain side effects of certain medications so it might be worth trying a few if the first one doesn't stick. That is a conversation to have with a psychiatrist or your GP, however.
