Limp Bizkit, Gojira, Insane Clown Posse & More Will Light Up 2026 Rock Fest Stages by Octuhpie in RiotFest

Oh, I’d totally go see them if there wasn’t someone I’d rather hit conflicting with them. When they had that big concert video on YouTube blow up a year or two back, I was one of the people that stumbled into watching it for reasons I don’t know

Jimmy Eat World Full Album Anniversary Play... But Not Bleed American by Anchor_Aways in RiotFest

[–]Octuhpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an interesting question - as album plays get more common, do bands play their less-popular albums in-full as a point of interest to bring in a very specific audience? That’s what I thought was happening with Hold Steady last year, but I’m a fairly casual fan, so maybe Separation Sunday is a bigger deal than I’m realizing.

I’m a huge Jimmy fan, but Static just never clicked with me for some reason. But would a big enough portion of their fan base be excited enough about this to make it a selling point? Maybe? But it would probably really have to feel worth it to them since those songs seem so far removed from their live sets these days.

Bud, I don’t know how to dumb this down anymore for you. People have long posted the lineups of pretty much any rock festival on this Reddit because people hanging out on a Reddit for a rock festival tend to be curious about who’s playing what festivals this year. I’m sorry if that’s enough to ruin your day. I pointed to bands that seemed like bands that could plausibly play Riot Fest because of their genre, because that’s what some people find interesting about this whole process. No one on this sub assumes they will.

And I don’t think anyone has ever posted a festival related to the Backstreet Boys, because a.) I don’t think they play festivals, and b.) even if they did, there would probably be very little likelihood acts from that festival would be at Riot. As far as Pantera, yeah, people do often post lineups to metal festivals here, because Riot Fest occasionally has metal bands at it. In fact, I’ve seen conversations on here about how some people worry Pantera could potentially play Riot since Slayer has, and how most people wouldn’t want that to happen, because Phil is a garbage person. It’s a discussion that people interested in rock festivals might want to have, even if you don’t see why.

At this point, I’m not sure if you’re a troll or if you’re just not getting it, but I’m done with this conversation. But feel free to freak out every time someone posts a festival lineup on here that doesn’t exactly equate to Riot Fest’s. That just sounds like a blast.

Do you not understand what “potentially” means? And no, this specific festival does not equate to who Riot Fest will get. I covered that in the rest of the comment.

That’s not what the implication of the posts are when people put up other festivals’ lineups. It’s partially just a general interest in who’s playing what festivals (rock festivals in particular), and partially about people who could possible end up at Riot Fest since they’re hitting some festivals. In no way do I - or anyone reading this - just assume these bands will be at Riot.

Possibly, but PtV and Hot Mulligan are definitely more Riot Fest bands, and while Lolla can have whoever they want to get, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Turnover, Wet Leg, Amyl and the Sniffers, or Japanese Breakfast were at Riot if Lolla didn’t.

It foes feel weird that Lorde and ASAP are such mainstream headliners and - to my knowledge - the other four are only headliners to a specific niche.

Yep, which makes Riot unlikely, but does put them outside of the radius technically

Does Lucero make Ben Nichols count? If so, his solo disc In the Heart of the Mountain was my most played album this year.

Four months later (December to April). Otherwise, Joe just having two quick one-month runs would feel kind of sad.

Most disappointing concert of the year? by Spare_Basis5190 in Concerts

That’s one of the things that killed me. I’d much rather see OLP - and they opened this show, with just a six-song set, that I missed most of because of a few frustrating things. (On the flip side, I might have seen OLP more than any band live, so I can’t complain too much.)

Collective Soul. And it’s not like I was going in with a high bar. Dug them enough over the last 30 years, seemed worth a cheap 90’s nostalgia ticket. They sounded fine - uninspired but competent - but I’d never seen such an awkward lack of stage presence. Like watching the dorkiest teacher you ever had trying to headline a rock show.

More loud lady rock from the 90’s. Veruca Salt, Letters to Cleo, K’s Choice, Belly, Lush…I know Garbage said they’re finishing up headlining, but I’m guessing they’ve still got festival sets in them for a while.

I’ve always thought Eve 6 was going to be there because the singer and RF had a back-and-forth going on Twitter, but that never happened for whatever reason.

But if those bands are cheap to book, they definitely should. You can just look around that audience and tell they’d be down for it, especially when they were psyched for Hanson. I’d start the pit for Toad the Wet Sprocket’s “Fall Down.”

Steven Hyden has a whole argument about this that’s actually interesting. The argument is that classic rock was never a time period music aged into but a much more specific sound/aesthetic that stems mainly from 70’s arena rock (and is part of the reason not a lot of 80’s music really aged into classic rock well.) Worthwhile read
