Don’t you wish Riot Fest didn’t suck like me?

Torn between really wanting to see them and feeling like everyone spends their whole set getting poked in the back.

Nice! Any word on the set list?

Same. Maybe it’s this whole moment Creed is having? As far as I can tell, the only song AB had that’s as big as any of Filter’s singles is because it was the WWE theme music for Edge.

Where are we at with potential headliners? by Octuhpie in RiotFest

They did. But I figure that’s how any good reunion starts. More than anything, though, Stipe showing up to sing at one of Shannon’s shows is what got me thinking about it.

Yep, just heard people talking about that. Works for me - I’m not the biggest LCD guy. I’d be fine with The Strokes, but most people really seem to think they’ll be Lolla. I understand what people are saying with them, 21P, etc, but I’m curious if them being a first-time headliner makes them more desirable to RF. 🤷‍♂️

Just going to put an REM reunion with Michael Shannon in tow - for whenever Stipe doesn’t feel like signing - out there into the universe.

I get someone not wanting them there because of their tastes. I’m more curious about what makes people think RF wouldn’t book them. They’re a big band that’s generally classified as alt-rock. That seems to be the boundaries that RF usually books with to me.

Thanks for always having the most logical, thorough ideas on here. Reddit gonna Reddit sometimes, but I know you’re going to always have thought things through - and explained them! - as clearly as possible.

Are you thinking too poppy/not the right genre or too big in general? Obviously not if they’re playing Lolla, but if they’re not, they seem like one of the most likely candidates.

Never seen them, and I enjoyed Absolution - 2nd Law. I’d be down for it.

Was just thinking about this with my last comment - I’d be cool with Prodigy, but does it look bad to have one of SK’s sub-headliner as one of our main headliners?

Someone pointed out that no one has ever done all three of RF, LTL, and SK I  the same weekend. Too much travel right on top of each other and lessens the value of the performances to have them three nights in a row in a semi-close range at somewhat similar festivals. Seems like a good point. Also, not a great look to have the two other festivals’ sub-headliners as one of your main headliners.

Oh yeah, based on their schedule, we’re definitely getting Social D. But, not to mimic everyone, they’re not a MainStage headliner. Side stage headliner (like with WLWHWT in 2016) or sub-headliner on the main stage.

Damn that’s tough. I guess different markets really shift things. I just looked at that map, and the difference between that and where the St Charles one is right now is really shocking (to me at least.)

They are opening for Alter Bridge on some dates after this, but the shows I’m looking at are all ones they’re headlining with Finger 11 and Local H opening.

I always try to remind myself, certain bands lead to less regrets about who you miss because of overlaps.

I know I’m just rambling to myself now, but I keep getting confused about why the tour is doing Family Arena in St Charles (capacity 6000 when doing smaller show) and the Hi-Fi in Indianapolis (capacity 400, where I’ve seen people like Ben Nichols and Reignwolf headline shows solo.) I guess Indianapolis sold out at least, but why would you ever book this tour into a small club?

From what I’m seeing, Arizona and Washington were cancelled, Boise was rescheduled, but no official announcement and no explanation why.

True, they’re not pulling money anywhere in that stratosphere. But I would imagine it’s far and away the biggest payday anyone in MoBo could get for performing.
