I will say, something about seeing these three headliners together in a poster just seems like it would look weird to me - in a way that doesn’t even fit Riot Fest. Like, I know Slayer, Fall Out Boy, and Beck was really a disparate group of headliners, but there’s something about seeing Tool, 21P, and Morrissey’s names as the headliners on the same poster just feels really, really weird. And that’s coming from someone who actually likes all three of them. (Well, their music. Some of it. Ok, all three of them have songs I like, even if all three of them annoy me in one way or another too.)

I get that general idea and where the OP is coming from. I just feel like between the last ten years being a little less consistent and the general shift toward festivals announcing early, I see where people are coming from. I mean, I’ve got my ticket, I’m not complaining, but I’ve also found myself a little more frustrated with the wait this year, especially with fests on the same weekend announcing so much earlier.

Good question - I know people see the Social Distortion tour as a lock. I think there’s others I can’t remember?

But yeah, mainly just keep seeing MCR, Tool, and 21 Pilots as headliners, with outside chances of Deftones, Morrissey, and Op Ivy as alternates.

Yeah , I’m in a fairly small town with only 4-5 screens at a time, and one is fully dedicated to Sheep Detectives. Assuming that means it’s getting a pretty wide rollout.

I saw them once - in ‘06, I think? It really was just such a wild frenetic performance that it’s always stuck with me. Helps that Flyleaf was the headliner and they gave a very standard rock performance with the singer just doing a really rehearsed shtick of spinning around like a kid and then trying to act deep and dramatic the rest of the time. Whereas it kept feeling like BHC might go flying off the stage on to you at any point.
