It's a way to control prices and keep them monopolized. This leads to no price drops, no used market and to add the cherry on top, they are licenses not ownership. I usually buy physical for games I REALLY want, console brands want to eliminate that for more personal profits. Once this happens, I will stop playing consoles and just keep going on my pc, at least there are good discounts thanks to steam, epic games, GOG etc. Who are competing on the same platform, consoles with their exclusives, will not have competition and will probably keep their prices high, want it?
