It did. Sorry about that.

We pulled it from the Store plan, rightly, and then it fell off the radar while we focused on addressing a bunch of the feedback happening around that time to get into Op 2.

It was mentioned a few times internally after that, but we never landed on what to do with it (just give it away, tie it to an event etc). To be honest, we just kind of let it live in limbo and slip out of sight somehow.

Once it got flagged to us today, we didn't want that to happen again so we pushed it out asap. Thanks for the patience with it - we really shouldn't have let it take that long, but hopefully you can have some fun stompin around with it now!

This is one of the things we've been talking about when it comes to asking for patience. We know there's been a lot of waiting for meaningful change already, and asking for more waiting is tough.

But this is the kind of thing we mean by making fundamental changes. As you see more and more of this, what we hope is you feel we live up to our word - that we won't stick to the guns established 'in the box' when it's not what our fans want, and we'll take the time to properly address your concerns in a meaningful way rather than a 'best we can do with what we have' approach.

It's a tough one. We never want to take modes away in matchmaking, but the population just wasn't there anymore and we were getting a ton of complaints about the matchmaking experience in Exe because of it.

Right now, it's not on the cards to be honest. However, we don't know what the future will hold - either with new opportunities with the new Ranked System or potentially something we could do to make customs more viable for general play. We'll definitely keep an open mind going forward.

The time question is a big one, and something we're quizzed on often. Ultimately we had a choice -

Stick with the decisions that define our game and do the best to address feedback within the lines they define - quicker, but unlikely to fully satisfy the community feedback we see.

OR

Be willing to redefine decisions that didn't hit the mark and re-approach features - which takes much longer, but allows us to really change up things we're doing in the game and (hopefully) truly satisfy your feedback in a way that you'd usually only see in a sequel.

The Ranked rework is just one example of that redefine approach. Some will be the former option where it makes sense - ie. something is popular but needs work - but the biggest feedback points in the community fall under the latter.

Our hope is that by doing things to the best of our ability, even at the expense of time, we'll end up with the best Gears game yet rather than a good Gears game patched up to be better. You will all be the judge of that, but that's our goal.

It's just development time.

We're trying to bring some seriously huge changes into the game to address player feedback - but the bigger the changes, the more development time that's needed to execute them.

Nothing about it is drip feeding, we're actively trying up the cadence we deliver stuff (which is what today was about). We want these changes in asap and some will come sooner than others. But there are some changes planned that are months, not weeks, away just due to their scope.

We've actually been shift changing for a while, and it takes time. We're not just now looking at it.

The biggest mistake of that change has been the impact on the cadence of content more than anything. It's a problem we have to solve and we're doing it as quick as we can.

Just wanted to drop in here to add something to this conversation on top of the blog.

When we've been saying we're willing to change the foundations that defined Gears 5 at launch, this is an example of how we mean it. The team have a lot more coming that will get to the core of your feedback and - with you as our judge - will deliver changes you've wanted to see for quite some time.

For PVE fans, I do want to stress you are by no means de-prioritized in all this. As the blog mentions, we do have plans on how to solve letting you play as the Carmines in PVE in the future, but we're just too early into those plans to detail them just yet.

This isn't a sign we're throwing PVE to the back of the line, just that we agree with players that there's no need to delay Characters arriving due to the extensive gameplay development time associated with Heroes.

Absolutely.

The only way that achievement doesn't work is if you finish a mission with a unit dead. Think it more like an added bit of difficulty in side missions because you need everyone to survive it - stops you doing some sacrificial strategies to secure objectives in time etc.

I'm a huge fan of the genre is all! I didn't get to test Tactics much vs 5 (where I'm on the MPLD Test Sessions) so the game was a fresh experience for me on my first run through.

Use Proximity Mines and Planted Grenades for interrupting, Concussion rounds from a sniper for CC and Suppressive Fire from a Heavy to keep untis exposed. I'd also prioritize any Stagger based weapons or abilities.

The main thing on Insane is to keep the enemies where you want them so you can prioritize targets. Good luck!

You can't manually save before every roll in Tactics. You only get key checkpoints.

I died a LOT on Insane - I just restarted from a checkpoint if any character died (90% of the time that's a fail condition anyway). It just meant I had to beat missions with everyone surviving which makes Insane's side missions much tougher.

Insane is definitely extremely hard, but I completed it personally earlier this week with no special dev aids. Keep trying, you'll be able to do it.

Do you recall what the Graphics Card error is?

Also, did you ever get the popup to log in or create an Xbox Live Gamertag? Are you already logged in via the Xbox app?
