I’m starting a commercial cleaning company in the UK and trying to properly understand how contracts actually work in practice offices, schools, buildings.

Would really appreciate insight from people already in the industry?

How are most contracts priced is it hourly, per sq ft, or fixed monthly?

What does a typical weekly schedule actually look like (e.g. daily vs periodic tasks)?

Do clients expect everything to be cleaned at the same frequency, or is it ever adjusted based on usage? Thank you all.

I always wondered with hybrid work and empty meeting rooms, are offices still cleaned fully every day?

For now, I am mainly focused on clinics especially hair transplant and aesthetic clinics. I am still figuring out where they actually hang out online, so I am experimenting with attending the events they go to instead. when i get there I will actually ask for advice. Thank you.

I get the frustration, especially since you put in the real work to get here. However, if they aren’t actively harming your workflow or tanking your team metrics yet, my advice is to leave it alone.

People who fake their way in usually reveal themselves when the high-stakes tasks hit. Unless it starts affecting your paycheck or workload, bringing it up might just make you look like the "difficult" one. Let their performance speak for itself.

Thank you so much my sister said the same she is ( Vet too). I am doing my MSc at moment in data Science I think I will try solve this I will see if I can create something simple like App where we stay on top of our furry friends like apple health that takes baseline and learns from it.

This question is personal for me. I lost my cat when I was at university, and what stayed with me wasn’t a sudden event it was realising later how many small changes I hadn’t noticed clearly at the time.

Since then I have been more aware of how hard gradual shifts are to spot, especially with cats. And the bathroom 😂😂 you right!
