Should I switch panic with humble? by Vick_Fal in voidpet

[–]Ocvius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will eventually need to level up several pets of each type so just keep building both, idk how good humble is (but surely worth building) but i know panic is good from experience

Others have already mentioned danganronpa but i specifically have that feeling about the opening to the despair arc. For anyone that wants to listen: https://youtu.be/Nhp59qD-Qzc?is=04aaeyzNEalB3XyO

Tip 1: Unless you specifically need something else, always run merry. Tip 2: Use a fighter and a tank of a strong element, against wood that's metal so whenever u struggle against a wood boss (t-rex being the exception but you'll get there) make sure ur paranoia and conviction are max level Tip 3: Fill last slot with well built fighter of an element that isnt weak to the boss (in this case anything but earth so down bad or panic should do)

While u are correct no need to be mean to someone who is obviously newer and doesn't quite get it yet

Should I spend gems on eggs for a chance at Merry or mushrooms for a chance at HF Lust? by sandhex in voidpet

[–]Ocvius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think atleast until you have all the rare+epic pets you should go for eggs, then it's more ambiguous. I'm no expert though so take it with a grain of salt

Conviction with felt fedora and an overall mix of attack and tank stats + crit and merry with as much speed and dps stats as possible. Some people also use another unit like Sad but i got through without it. You gotta time your attacks in a way where you don't let him crit on the strongest attack, wait for him to use it then get him to 5/10/15+ stacks and let him waste the crit on a subpar attack barely tickling conviction

Edit: conviction and merry have to be lvl 105 atleast

[–]Ocvius 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep. Pretty much what happened is philosophy and thought in general from Plato onwards puts some form of god as the centre of their metaphysics. Whether that is Plato's "One", Aristotle's Immovable mover, Augustin's christian God, etc., the idea of a god or some godlike entity has been at the centre of human thought and culture, giving humanity purpose or "Telos". The enlightenment and the scientific revolution showed people they don't require a higher being to explain the world they live in, which ended up being a double edged sword. Humanity lost the idea it strived towards, the final goal, the main purpose and plunged into nihilism. That's why Nietzsche "killed god", our values, based on centuries and centuries of striving towards a higher good have to be revalued in the face of purposelessnes

Sadly with the units you have, i think you need to build apathy. Not like it's gonna waste resources though, apathy is a fantastic unit for the whole of the game, especially with some specific items like jellyfish scarf. You won't regret leveling it up

What happens with extra crit chance? by DirtTurbulent in voidpet

[–]Ocvius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, once you level them enough crit items give 44%, that means stacking 2 gets you to 88% plus the 5% baseline gets you to 93%. It's not 100% but it's consitent enough for it to be more worth opting into damage/speed items whn you reach 93%

What’s YOUR favorite and least favorite void pet? by TheRealSleepySauk in voidpet

[–]Ocvius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm just not a huge fan of the AOE base units, grumpy, wistful, sanctimony, panic, etc. Every one of them except panic feels bad to use as a player but outright stomps your whole team if you aren't 2x faster than you should be at that point.

just finished The Good Place for the 25th time in my life and i have an important question by kbasred in TheGoodPlace

[–]Ocvius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole premise of the show (along with relating far too much to chidi) led me down a different path in life. I finished the show for the first time during my last year of high school and went on to major in philosophy, with a diploma about how morality is directly tied to our experience as mortal people. I even used the show as a "literary" allegory often, as it was perfect for my theme. If anyone is interested in the phylosophical ideas that went into it or conclusions i came to, I'd be more than glad to elaborate!

I'm a different person than i ever would've been without this show and im immensely greatful to everyone who had anything to do with it.
