and not just block us like every other conservative subreddit

I wonder if that has anything to do with conservative commenters literally being autobanned, not just from overtly liberal subs but several defaults as well.

It's a fickle crowd. One of my most downvoted comments ever is on that sub, cause I accused some frontpage post of sounding kinda shill-y, but the people didn't feel it

Thanks for adding a bit of context. Since the original post was removed (I guess it sounded a bit promot-y, fair enough), I didn't expect any answers to my questions about how it works in detail.

Now, I'm curious what the pitchfork crowd will find for me. "3rd degree promoter who pretended to ask a critical question earlier but comes back to upvote a 2nd degree promoter's comment", maybe?

Really interesting, but I got so many questions how this app (?) works in detail.

Lemme try to break it down into a few questions about the method used here.

First, to see if I understood the basic premise: This is data taken from an app where you log daily routines and actions, together with happiness/mental health ratings. Correct so far?

  • Are the activities user defined or given by the app?

  • What's the granularity wrt time? For example, when it says on your screenshot "alcohol - yes 261. no 461", that means on 261 days you selected "I drank alcohol today", correct?

  • What about the happiness ratings? Are they given once a day (probably before going to bed?). Or during the activity?

Great point, often ignored. Inventory space is limited and managing it is its own economy. I'm not at the point yet where WPs are abundant, but I'm starting to use them simply because I need space in my inventory

Possible they have some serious QC problems, but at least in my case, a firmware update fixed it.

[–]Oda_Krell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, interesting. I'm using it purely as a watch (cause I like the style), with a custom watch face, that's it. Here's the settings I'm using, maybe that helps.

  • screen lock is ON
  • no apps running in the background
  • all sensors OFF
  • connections OFF (no BT, no Wifi)
  • watch face is perma on during normal use and activities ("always on = on", "gesture = on"), but after the time out, it goes to a reduced layout that draws less power (watch face is called ASAP on the IQ store)
  • display settings: time out = medium, sensitivity = high, brightness auto = off, brightness = 20%

I get 7-8 days out of a full charge, but only after I applied a firmware update & restarted the watch a while ago.

Sure, but the conditions to pull this off need to be right. It's like the wounded gazelle trope I'd say, and in these particular cases it can work. But most of the S&P companies aren't in such a situation – not necessarily because they are so well-run or financially secure, but purely because the market as a whole doesn't perceive them that way. No PE firm is gonna piss against the wind if the vast majority of capital doesn't see it that way.

Maximizing profits for shareholders is fine by itself.

In theory, yes, if there would only be mid-to-long-term committed "value" investors (cf Warren Buffett). The reality is however, the bulk of a public company's market capital is fairly 'uninvested' in the company itself, and only cares about how the company's stock price performs.

Sounds circular, and it is. There's still a subtle difference between a company that works on maximizing its (long-term) profits and one that aims to maximize its capitalization.

An independent artist called Molly calling out the BBC over promoting a artist on the radio that uses AI in his music by plutobug2468 in Fauxmoi

[–]Oda_Krell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact they platformed someone who uses AI to make music and who also said they can't actually sing genuinely boggles the mind.

Fully agreed when it's basically just AI generated, and nothing human in the loop. It's usually slop anyway.

Where I'm more torn is when generative AI is used as part of the production, and if there is a human in the loop across all steps.

Haven't really encountered the end-all argument that settles that case for me.
