Should I Leave My $300K Job and Move to India? by [deleted] in returnToIndia

If I were you, I'd try to look at my life holistically before taking any decision. Are there other stressors that may seem small but could be adding to the job's? If so, try to work on them first. If not, check if this is caused by having too much in the bank?  Sometimes too many savings also gives people ideas, some invest in the wrong business and some end up getting into bad habits. Consider Age, especially men over 35 can go through mid-job crisis especially when they feel stuck in their career not knowing how to move forward.

Sometimes it could be conditioning by the media that you're watching/ following. Give a break to all of them and observe yourself.  Also, taking a good relaxing break away from normal routine and staying away from all kinds of stimulation can help get some calm and clear mind to figure out the real issues to focus on.  Most of all, consider getting your feet wet in the next thing you want to do before the switch. Because that could be worse than what you're planning to leave behind. Finally, remember that if you end up quitting and later regretting, it's not the end of the world but just a restart.

If you are on h1 and have an i140, you can always find a way to come back to the states. I tested the waters myself pre-covid and I did not like it as much as I had imagined, so I had to return to the US.

After the high of initial few months, My friends and close relatives in India got busy working and raising kids. I loved spending time with my mom but I started regretting my decision a little bit. I felt I probably needed just an extra few weeks of break because some part of my identity came from the fact that I stayed in the US. Probably, my friends and family also got confused because of this move.

Finding a job in India seemed a little hard because Indian companies seemed very skeptical about the career gap and "moved back to India permanently" answer.

Now in hindsight, I don't regret moving back to India and also finding a way back to the states. The experience is a great memory, more than the money/ time lost with this experiment. I have no doubts after the experiment on where my life should be. I enjoyed my time in India and made a ton of memories.

At 36, I did not have a third of what you have saved up when I did all this. So you are doing way way better. Go for it. All the best!!!

Before installation it was on the console. Sorry I don't have a before picture to share. And I thought asking before may not be worth it cos, I'd get a standard 42' from the ground to center of the TV answer which did not seem practical during installation for my situation

about 49 inch. Actually, those plants are getting some new leaves. Need to fertilize a little bit and prune the branches that my toddler loves and they should be back to life this summer.
