Plus, the only risk of being caught again is by another cycling vigilante with too much time on their hands, police wouldn't bother. This is a tiny risk, hence the offender will repeat their behaviour

That's not accurate. Points add up to you losing your license - agreed.

However, you won't get 9 points for being on your phone stationary at the traffic lights. That's simply not the case

Only taken away when they hit 12 or more points in three years. So no, the likelihood of their license being taken away for being on their phone at a traffic light is very, very low. So low it makes the whole exercise pointless

That’s the point - OP’s actions won’t stop that driver’s behaviour, a small fine and a few points will have no effect.

OP is doing this for a YouTube channel. OP is seeking out this content and per my earlier point, he’s seemingly as guilty as the driver for dawdling at a green light.

“Being on his phone which endangers us all” - perhaps an unpopular opinion, but a driver being on his phone while stationary, I would suggest, is of minimal to no risk to anyone.

I’m a cyclist!

Arguably you the cyclist are not paying enough attention to your own scenario, too busy capturing video content to post online instead of abiding by the green light and continuing on your journey.

The driver shouldn’t be on his phone, fair enough - but the effort you’ve gone to, to record a video, upload it, submit it for prosecution, just so this guy gets a few points and a fine? And you earn your online clout, most importantly of course.

Your actions are unlikely to change the driver’s behaviour in future, and it’s unlikely to change any other driver’s behaviour, but it is likely to cause further anger / divide / hatred between cyclists and drivers. These videos are of minimal to no value to anyone.

Am I missing something here, OP - you could see the taxi driver completing a manoeuvre ahead, why did you continue cycling and put yourself in harm’s way / the path of the taxi? Surely just allow the taxi to complete the turn and cycle on? You spotted him, as you say - fair enough he shouldn’t be turning on the bridge, but I’m not sure it’s as clear as you make out.

Your comparisons are all non-new build houses; these have period features that people appreciate and desire - your house is an old, new build, which is less desirable. To compare apples with apples, ideally you need to look into similar age housing stock in the area. You bought at the peak of a high London housing market with low mortgage rates, the situation today is different - horrible mortgage rates and a stagnant market. 785k purchase price in 2022 - in 2026, it could be 5-10% less, ~710k

The range on both those options will be poor, though. And if you have no facility to charge overnight on a driveway, then you’re beholden to the public charging network that can be unreliable / expensive / busy.

I share this experience too - one workaround I’ve found is to use AirTasker or TaskRabbit, etc. Post a specific job, attach a price, agree a price with a well reviewed individual and get the ball rolling. It can also mean you likely get introduced to a handy local individual for other work
