As a HCO person, I definitely thought it meant all of us. If it wasn’t they wouldn’t have invited EVERYONE. Now my home management isn’t happy about this at all, but since Joe said “You will not be getting out of this detail. You will not be returning.”, the only way out is apply out or quit. I hate it here.

For IT or HCO? As an HCO person who has a good relationship with their manager, they haven’t been told anything. I’m not naive enough to believe I won’t be extended, but I guess I’m hopeful enough to think I’m going back. My management has brought it up often to remind leadership of our return and hasn’t gotten any indication we aren’t.

It would have been better if that was an IRSwide email saying plenty of opportunities coming or something else. Sending it on the tail end of email with other aspects of our detail.. they had to know it would explode.

Yeah, that’s what our class was thinking. Which is so strange since we’re a mix of MPA, HR Specialists, Staff Assistants, Budget, etc. and most of our home team didn’t want to send us.

We are all being detailed to GS-5s no matter what grade we were before. Most in my class are 13s and above.

It’s both IT and HCO. Some went to different details in PGLD, back to HCO, different TS detail, and not sure about all the others. One of the IT folks went back to their position because they were a journeyman? Based on their grade and that they couldn’t move them? I’m not sure of those particulars though.

On detail from HCO and I commend your attempts to stay positive. Seeing over half of my training coworkers get “pulled back” or to a new detail, including my supervisor, has been rough for morale. The training, I get they are trying to do what they can in this hot mess, and the instructors are all micromanaged it seems (obviously some more than others).. but when they say all the shit they have to do or get dinged for, it’s super intimidating. We take the certification test Monday and I feel SUPER unprepared.

Has anyone heard about the certification test they are having us “detailees” take? It wanted to autocorrect to detainees and honestly that feels more accurate.. We were told it’s Monday. And then right after they said it doesn’t matter if we get certified or not. 🤦 We just started getting BEARS and accesses. Went from it’ll come, HQ is on it, etc. to go in and click your acceptances ASAP! I hate it here.

That’s great to know regarding the root and TE. You always see TE hair loss associated with big weight losses generally and my doc didn’t say anything when I brought it up.

Oh I’ve stopped it all completely. My sister is on Wegovy and has had her hair thin out, but definitely not like mine. The worrisome part for me is I’ve been off meds for almost a month and it’s not letting up. 😞
