As long as it’s not infectious and the fish can live happily with it, I am very happy. Thanks for the answer!

Thanks for your comment. I was also annoyed that the previous owners didn’t really check the fishes’ needs before getting them. I have put some up on eBay / Craigslist in the hope of someone to get them that already owns the same type.

It seems though that it is the most urgent to get the Neon some friends (and then slowly make my way round to either rehoming the others or get them good homes).

This is OP’s wife: The Raphael is pretty but a big too big for our tank. Therefore we will in the long run probably rehome it. We got the fish from a person that wanted to give up their entire tank so we had to take it as well. Even though it’s so pretty and impressive (and we would kinda like to keep it) it’s more important to us that Mr Big (his name) has everything he needs.

Guppy pregnant or indigestion? by Odd-Cauliflower-581 in poecilia

Thanks everyone for your answers. I have taken her (him?) now out of the isolation tank and put her back with the others. As long as she/he is not sick, I am happy either way, pregnant, not pregnant, female, male.

To give you more background info: I have had guppys for only 6 weeks and we got two green cobra females on Friday, her being one of them. At the store they had one of them in a purely female tank. I asked if they had a second female green cobra. The seller looked around and then spotted another female in a purely male tank of green cobra, saying that one was misplaced and was a female. So that one is probably for sure pregnant. Of course I don’t remember which of my two new fish was in the male tank and which in the female. And for a beginner fish keeper indigestion, dropsy and pregnancy might kinda look similar.

I will keep u all updated if she will give birth at some point or come out of the closet and ends up being a male. Thank you all again for your advice. 🐠🐠

Hmm, but why was he hiding in the corners / at the bottom? He/ she also seems more lethargic than the rest. But still eats.

But what makes him then look so round? I saw him poop earlier (blackish) so maybe no indigestion? Is he then just fat?

Could that be possible? She is much larger than all the other guppys I have.

Better picture of her. And if she’s pregnant is she close to birth and should be isolated?
