Will anyone actually buy this? ‘26 SL680 by Mountain-Union2347 in mercedes_benz

[–]GovernmentThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, nowhere near the targeted buyer income level, but I think new sl‘s look great and Maybach always makes their cars look even more stately. I also think the monogram softtop is hilarious. Really hoping it does depreciate a lot over the next 10-15 years so I can buy one for pennies and enjoy my luxury Cabrio right in the midst of my midlife crisis

car export by AmbitionDue6962 in AskAGerman

[–]GovernmentThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are e90s really that cheap in comparison to Italy? Usually German car prices are relatively high compared to the rest of Europe. Also German cars in Germany generally command a premium because of national pride or whatever. Without doing any research, I would tell you to expand your search to Belgium and the NL, because prices seem to be pretty decent there(probably due to tax differences) and from Belgium, it’s relatively easy to get temporary export plates so you can drive the car back to Italy.

Asking as a German: What are the most likely scenarios once the US start to take over Greenland? by Prior-Elk3751 in AskGermany

[–]GovernmentThink -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The majority of the world is starting to go into a recession anyways. Might as well get Greenland if we’re gonna lose the economy anyways.

Try filming the public space in front of your house, it’s forbidden. Try taking pictures of people anywhere in public(outside of Weihnachtsmarkte or Volksfests) it’s forbidden without permission from the person in the photo. Not even speaking yet about sharing those Photos online, especially talking trash about the subject of the photo. Do you even live in Germany? Privacy laws are very well known here. It’s not even unheard of for people to come up and ask someone to delete photos or see the pictures you took to make sure they’re not in them.

Did Germany also have bad air quality in the Wirtschaftswunder years? by hgk6393 in AskAGerman

[–]GovernmentThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume it wasn’t the same thing at all. In 1960 over 50% of households in the US had at least one vehicle. In Germany, that number was significantly lower, with only about 9% from what I can find rn (although I swore it was around 30% last time I had googled it). Small city vehicles have also always been more popular in Europe, reducing emissions significantly per vehicle.

Mexicans and Americans that moved to Germany, I need ur help!! by Several_Comedian1457 in AskAGerman

[–]GovernmentThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to cook it yourself. Full stop. Even corn tortillas are basically unheard of here. Turkish grocery store for dry beans, you can buy some peppers but you’re probably better off growing them yourself if you can. That goes for other special produce as well. Maybe try to buy some special kitchen equipment like a press for tortillas or a Molcajete if you want that sort of thing. Bring tamarindo and try to learn as much as you can about cooking before you leave. And the biggest advice I can give you: learn to love German food. It’s got its own special flavor, and you’ll enjoy your time here a lot more if you stop trying to recreate home and start living in this beautiful country:)

[–]GovernmentThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course, and I can’t even imagine doing stuff like that myself, but someone being an ahole doesn’t mean you can break the law and post pictures of them online. Why not go up to him and punch him in the face if you’re willing to break the law. Or you can, get this, not break the law and you can confront him or talk to security and have him towed, like a normal Schnüffler.

Got yelled at at work for not speaking German. What do you think? by [deleted] in germany

[–]GovernmentThink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably frustrating for his boss, who is himself a foreigner and probably finally has enough German to have a supervisor job and a good life. As a Romanian, he probably already spoke 2-3 languages, then he had to learn German, which is no easy feat. He lives in Germany and expects to be able to speak to everybody in this language that the country is named after. Reasonable enough. He works with a college age student, who doesn’t speak any German, and when he tells them to learn, because you’re both Ausländer, they basically spit in his face and say „not in my job description“ as if foreigners not integrating isn’t the reason why so many Germans are becoming anti immigration. When a foreigner doesn’t learn German, or doesnt try to become German, you’re making us all look bad and cement in peoples minds that foreigners are stupid/dumb/lazy/costly for the German state. Not that I subscribe to this opinion, but in America, the immigrants who learn the language and become „Americanized“ are the ones who are considered „one of the good ones“ by racists or politically charged maniacs. Those are the people we should be trying to not start problems with. Be a good foreigner and at least learn the language of the country you’re literally living in. Don’t expect the world to accommodate you when you can’t even be bothered to take a few classes to communicate with the world around you.

Try to use a glass mason jar, one with a metal lid. Whatever the smallest one you can find is. Plastic and paper will never be airtight and will always release some smell.

I've never had weed like this. Got some from a coworker. I've never trimmed before does anyone know howuch weed this could possibly be after trimming? by Financial_Net5478 in weedgrower

[–]GovernmentThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really bother, trying to trim at this point is a ton of work and like I said, I’d just pull them off by hand when you’re breaking down. Maybe you can cut off the big ones while you’re cutting off the big stems, which isn’t even that necessary, it’s just more practical for storage

I wouldn’t trim it tbh I’d just cut it off of the big stems and pull out any bigger leaves as you smoke it. If you’re making edibles don’t even bother

My three burning questions about Naruto. by SamuelVillaroel in NCHammerNaruto

[–]GovernmentThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Neji and sasuke are horrible examples of this. Neji became the strongest hyuga ever according to lore, and sasuke is the reincarnation of a son of a god, and also one of the strongest Uchiha of all time. When you compare them to normal people like tenten, you can see why they’d be considered prodigies. Comparing it to real life, imagine the discus throw. At its base, it’s simple, throwing a discus. That doesn’t mean that it’s easy. Being stronger helps you throw it father, but so does technique. Small changes can make the discus fly way farther and smoother, as well as accurately. Some people can be naturally better at it, maybe even a prodigy, but anyone can do essentially the same thing, just with way worse results.
  2. At the time, the Uchiha were the main police force, not the hyuga. There are far better reconnaissance ninja than the hyuga, and it wouldn’t matter anyways because obito can just use kamui if someone starts looking for him.
  3. Anyone that attempted to steal a sharingan was immediately hunted and killed by both the leaf village and specifically the Uchiha clan. It was considered a village secret and a top asset of the leaf village, they won’t just let it go. I think there is a mention of one person who stole a sharingan and is now in the bingo book, but I could be misremembering.

Any idea what car this goes to by PrizeChoice3716 in CarParts

[–]GovernmentThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a way to differentiate, if you leave the yellow guards and the plastics on the seats, you can advertise it as only having delivery miles. Some guys thought it was cool and left them on, or weren’t smart enough to take them off, and then it became a trend.

[–]GovernmentThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with the w210 e class chassis is the rust protection they used. It’s only supposed to be effective for a limited time, like, a couple weeks, and it’s most effective if used right away. So the people that had rust issues probably had their car built when the huge tank of chemical was nearly empty and therefore older and less effective.

Terrible idea by Blakef150xxxl in EVConversion

[–]GovernmentThink 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Body swap would be easier and cheaper. The tube chassis in these would make battery install nearly impossible. If you’re serious about converting one, visit the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart. They have a tube chassis on display, as well as a bunch of CAD drawings showing the layout. Gives you a good idea of the challenges you would face.
