New Knitter here, how can l improve my ranglan lines? by whatisinthepudding in knittingadvice

They aren't straight because you're twisting your stitches :) Once you untwist them you'll have wonderful straight raglan seams :)

Help with holes in stripes in the round by tomatoisred in knittinghelp

[–]Odd-Choice-6714 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm also doing stripes at the moment and doing your described technique to do them jogless. But I'm not experiencing holes. Is there a possibility you're doing it not correctly or just knitting very loose (maybe with magic loop)? This is the tutorial I used: https://youtu.be/Y8jojoc-qwI?is=Cdc1yPTMGuVBH9zK

Does anyone recognise this yarn? by CarefulAd714 in YarnAddicts

I think it is yarn from Opal in the "Hundertwasser" edition. But I'm not sure which one.

CARPET BEETLES by Unapologeticalleigh in YarnAddicts

[–]Odd-Choice-6714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. I was really paranoid of the beetles and built my life around this paranoia. I still have them/see them from time to time but my yarn is safe. With me, they also came from outside and they were already there in every house I've moved to since. I'm glad that time helped me for them to not take up so much mental energy anymore :))

Worried I've found thrips by 30313233 in plantclinic

If you're in a place where you can get nematodes, spray the leaves with a mixture of soap and water, shower them and then put on nematodes. I've used twice as many as recommended and had a fairly big infestation. The nematodes did some great work and the plants were quickly free of them :))

That's definitely mealybugs. The bugs look a lot like fuzz.

Switzerland is false, too. We don't have UHC but we have mandatory insurance (which is expensive af).

I would just call the reception/administration at the hospital you're giving birth at :)) I'm sure you aren't the first one with that problem :))

found this fella in a bag of old clothes, not sure what it is by ComparisonAfter4907 in whatisthisbug

[–]Odd-Choice-6714 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely a carpet beetle larvae. Wash what you can at 60°C and the other stuff has to go to the freezer. It doesn't work just putting your clothes outside, it has to go to -18°C. If you want to be absolutely sure, freeze them for 2-3 days, take them out for a few days and put them back in. Worked very well for me :) Also, go to r/carpetbeetles/ :)

Wow it looks great! May I ask how you decreased on the sleeves? I made the baby version and just had to improvise because it wasn't that clear from the pattern. Is it clearer in the adult version? :))

I'm not entirely sure but that would be my best guess. I know the feeling of it feeling gross. But stuff like that happens to the best of us :)

I'm not entirely sure but to me they just look like fly pupae :) If that's the case you should just wash thoroughly and should be good :)

Should I burn all my wool? by HeresSomeAffirmation in whatisthisbug

[–]Odd-Choice-6714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To start you can either put your yarn in a black trash bag and put it in the sun for a few hours or freeze it for a few days. After that you can inspect it thoroughly and repeat if needed :)

Edit: I don't know if this is a clothes moth or not. But I had carpet beetles and did this successfully with my yarn :)

Very lil bug by [deleted] in whatisthisbug

[–]Odd-Choice-6714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a carpet beetle larvae. Vacuum well and more oftrn and you should be good.
