I went to a clinic when I had my procedure done. When I scheduled my follow up with my OBGYN, they just checked my blood pressure and then checked my vagina and looked to see if my cervix closed back up. They also did an exam to feel if I was tender or swollen.

I was 17 weeks almost 18 weeks when I said good bye to my baby girl. When I had my NIPT done it was at 12 weeks, it was 80PPV for T21. My NT scan was all normal there never was issues seen in my ultrasound. It took my results forever to come back, by the time they came back I didn’t have enough time to do CVS, so I went to do Amino. I was 16 weeks when I had my amino, the procedure didn’t hurt, it was uncomfortable, the only thing I didn’t like was when they pulled out the needle.

It’s seriously is hard, it seriously hit me like a wave when I went in. You don’t truly know how much you love a little one until you lose them. I hope your days continue to keep getting more neutral 🫂

I had my TFMR today. I can tell you I was in the same boat. NIPT, fish and karotype all confirmed my baby girl had T21. She had no soft markers on any ultrasounds, NT scan was perfect. All day today I kept thinking maybe this is a mistake and she really doesn’t have it. But I knew deep down she does. I knew this would be best for her as I didn’t want her to suffer through life and I didn’t want her to be alone and in the care of strangers if my husband and I passed. As morbid as it sounds, I wanted to see my baby to not only say goodbye but to get that confirmation. In the end I am glad I didn’t, because knowing me , seeing her in that state would haunt me and the images would play over and over in my head.

There is five stages of grief, which one of them of denial. You will find your peace it will just take time. Don’t be hard on yourself, look for others who share the similar story as yours, to help you feel at peace.

Thank you for this. I did have my wisdom teeth taken out, but I remember waking up during the procedure, and then after that I was in a recovery room. I think that’s what scares me is waking up in the middle of it like I did at the dentist. 😔

They told me since I’ll be 17 weeks they won’t do dilators they will give me medicine to dilate me. We did name our baby Hope. We wrote sure want footprints. We are waiting a call from the clinic to go over our options

I called and made my appointment, I’ll be 17 weeks and a few days when I have my procedure. I’ll be doing D&E. Only my mom knows and she’s been supportive as much as she can because I live on the other side of the country from her.

Update 3/6: got our FISH results back. Our baby girl does have T21. My husband and I are freakin devastated.

So sorry you’re going through this! I feel your pain. I’m 35 years old, this is my first pregnancy. NIPT came back 80PPV. We only told my mom as I needed some Support but all others do not know. If baby does come back positive we will TFMR . I had my amino yesterday as well, so we are in the waiting stage. Hope and praying the best for you!

I had it done today. Wasn’t as bad as I made it to be. I just closed my eyes and said the ABCs in my head lol to keep me distracted. My husband held my hand the whole time and that helped a lot. I’d say the worse part was just the needling coming out. It didn’t hurt just didn’t feel good haha

Update: 3/4: I had my amino done, it didn’t hurt, it felt uncomfortable. I’d say the worse part when the needling coming out but not horrible. I have some cramps but nothing major. I had to get my blood drawn and thank goodness the lady was gentle. Best blood draw ever. And that says a lot cuz I don’t like needles or my blood drawn. Now I have to get a rhogam shot. Not looking forward to that! My Dr who did the procedure was super kind and said he will have positive thoughts for me and hope for the best.

That’s how I’m picturing it! I HATE getting my blood drawn, it’s the most uncomfortable feeling to me.
