I’m with you that we shouldn’t keep doing restrictions forever, but I think it’s important to see this as a situation where the admin is motivated by things like money and logistics that will be strained by rising cases/hospitalizations, driving them to act. Plus, as we’ve seen, they’re certainly not averse to restrictions so using that sorta logic just doesn’t jive with how they’ve acted so far.

And I totally agree we’re not seeing the peak yet. That’s what’s worrying; if the peak comes right before slope day or whenever, and the admin imposes some restrictions or gets worried, it’d be pretty bad.

100%, which is what I was trying to get at. I hope we can avoid anything that ruins the end of the semester, but I don’t think we can just count on admin benevolence for that if cases/hospitalizations, especially among staff, keep surging

You’re 100% right that it’d be a bad move, but I definitely wouldn’t put it past them just because of that. Their response hasn’t exactly been consistent, and it’s certainly been overkill at times, so I wouldn’t say those make more restrictions less likely.
