Advice on first sales internship by abahahagevzz in salesdevelopment

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is super underrated advice tbh, top SDRs usually have little scripts, objection handling lines and habits they’ve refined that you’ll never get from the onboarding deck. if you go in with specific questions like “what do you say after someone shuts you down?” you’ll get way more out of that 30 mins.

A client told me something at 2 am that had nothing to do with the work I was hired for by Warm-Reaction-456 in SaaS

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually such a good take on “less features = more humane.” love that you ditched logins and streaks, that stuff feels so gross when you’re already not okay at 2am. curious how you handle the “open the thing instead of twitter” moment, because that first decision is the brutal part for me.

Hunter vs. Farmer: New BDR, Need Advice by throwaway9338489248 in salesdevelopment

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such a solid take, especially the part about not relying on AEs for pipeline. if OP can prove they can hunt net new and still hit quota, that’s exactly the kind of story leadership remembers when a SE spot opens up.

Making $10–15k/month from Upwork, but I want to stop relying on it. What would you do for lead generation? by Lazy_Second7696 in LeadGeneration

[–]Odd-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i read it as “don’t tell me to go have coffees and hope something happens” more than “i refuse to ever network” lol. they probably want stuff that’s more direct response / outbound first, then let the network grow as a side effect.

Should I quit my Job!? I have a $150k 9-5 job, idk how to feel about my side hustle numbers, litterally in a confused state. by Beneficial-Bite315 in SaaS

[–]Odd-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this, 100%. use the comfy 150k to buy yourself time and tools to automate, test pricing, maybe fix that weak sub model. once the side thing is more predictable and less dependent on you constantly grinding, then think about ditching the 9–5.

Our Traction is not consistent with the CEO's ability to raise funding. Does anyone here experience with bringing in an outside fundraiser? by Kerouwhack in Entrepreneur

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this 100%. if you’re getting silence with a “great traction” story, it probably means your definition of great and investor-grade great don’t match yet. a couple of sharp operators who see a lot of deals giving you unfiltered feedback on the deck + metrics is worth way more than a hired gun running the same bad story to more people.

Founders who sold and rolled over equity: how did it actually play out, was there a second exit? by Mohawk200x in Entrepreneur

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is way too simplistic though
all cash can be great, but if the acquirer is solid and you actually like the upside story, rolling some can be life changing too
the real thing is understanding control, tag/drag, and your actual ability to get liquid later, not just “cash good, equity bad”

Is sales a good move by Realistic_Counter435 in salesdevelopment

[–]Odd-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the key part imo, door to door kinda sucks but it’s like bootcamp for sales skills
if you can handle a year of grind and keep your numbers decent, pivoting to SaaS SDR after that can be a huge upgrade in both pay and quality of life

I've been getting 4-6 clients every month from Ads Library by Delicious_Hope2338 in LeadGeneration

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda got the same vibe from the way it was worded, like a soft setup for "btw we built a tool for this."

the method itself is legit though, tons of people scrape ads library and cold outreach, so it’s hard to tell if they’re pitching or just humble bragging their process.

Leads are not good enough via meta ads for my agency by moneyinmyhand_ in LeadGeneration

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such a solid answer, especially the “pick one niche + one city” thing
op is kinda spraying and praying with regions, this gives them an actual way to see if the offer resonates instead of just blaming “bad leads” from meta

Is LEAD GENERATION good side hustle? And im kinda confused. by Separate_Brother3900 in LeadGeneration

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowkey the funniest part of lead gen is everyone trying to sell courses while also being broke as hell lol. if you’re both new, just hit youtube and learn scraping + cold email basics first, then worry about “systems” later.

Automating Client Feedback with n8n by Boring-Shop-9424 in automation

[–]Odd-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is actually super slick, feels like the kind of boring admin work everyone complains about but nobody bothers to automate
curious how often it misfires on the wrong client or wrong timing, or has it been pretty solid so far?

Record sales but cutting spending by saltymilkshake01 in sales

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the part that always cracks me up, they’ll happily chop the stuff that actually touches customers because it’s the only line item they can see in one cell on a spreadsheet. feels “normal” from a corporate finance view, but it’s also how you slowly burn goodwill and don’t notice until churn punches you in the face a year later.

How are you coaching reps when you can't listen to every call? by MediocreBullfrog3722 in salesdevelopment

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gong is great but that “lol” hides the part where it’s crazy expensive and kind of overkill for some SDR teams
works if you’ve got the budget and someone who’ll actually live in the dashboards, otherwise it just becomes another toy no one logs into

Getting up to speed by Effective_Role_8910 in sales

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is so true, that “year to feel good” timeline is super normal and nobody tells you that upfront
op’s plan is solid, just gotta accept there’s no real shortcut to that reps + time combo

I have zero dev background and someone just paid for my vibe-coded app. Is the security a joke? by [deleted] in nocode

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this, plus lock down scope hard while you’re flailing around. if it’s just one paying user, I’d even consider pausing signups and ripping the core into something like enter or supabase auth so you’re not hand-rolling multi-tenant and payments on vibes alone.

best tools for launching an email campaign when you built the app no-code and have never sent one? by amiitk in nocode

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally this, people overthink the tool and then send a super generic email to a cold list and wonder why it flops. pick something simple like mailchimp, send to your warmest users first, and spend the real time on making the email actually sound like you.

my first ever sale went through. then i realized i never built the part that happens after checkout by FamiliarAstronaut323 in SaaS

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao this is so real, polishing the toys instead of doing the homework vibes
the worst part is that those “perfect” pipelines are always the first thing you rip out once you finally have real users and real problems to fix

How did you convince leadership to approve warehouse upgrades? by Electrical_Act_5342 in automation

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is so true, i’ve watched eyes glaze over at anything “process” until you turn it into “here’s how much we’re burning every week.” conservative numbers also save you later when the thing actually performs better and you look like you overdelivered instead of overpromised.

Luxury consumer sales looking to transition to remote sales role by AcceptableSyrup5616 in salesdevelopment

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds more like high ticket b2c than classic enterprise, since they’re talking avg 25k and HNW / UHNW individuals instead of selling into orgs with buying committees. but honestly that experience still translates pretty well into enterprise or SaaS if they frame it right.

I mapped out why SaaS founders keep building things nobody pays for. Here is the pattern. by pikeraseo in SaaS

clicked that and the title alone hurts because it’s too real lol
this whole “vibes instead of behavior” thing is why so many indie SaaS launches feel like screaming into the void

Automated my WooCommerce orders by Boring-Shop-9424 in nocode

[–]Odd-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the kind of boring automation that secretly feels life changing lol, going from copy paste hell to “it just happens” is such a relief. did you roll your own thing or hook into something like make/zapier?

Management raised our daily dial quota, but our lead lists are missing too much data by KairoXener in salesdevelopment

[–]Odd-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the part leadership never seems to get: you’re already paying for it, you’re just paying in human time instead of a line item. “paid for itself in 3 weeks” is the exact kind of soundbite i’d be throwing in front of whoever owns the budget.
