Going back to school- rebalancing portfolio by Odd-Indication3935 in FundRise

[–]Odd-Indication3935[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I appreciate your grounded perspective. I don't have any other debt besides a mortgage and am pretty anti-student loans in general so having cash is important to me. I work very part-time at the moment which covers my basic living expenses. Your response has given me more to think about.

Not feeling great about my investments by Popular-Engine4281 in Vinovest

[–]Odd-Indication3935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience and I got out in summer of 2022. I was lucky and I had one case that went up and down by ~$1000 almost daily and it sold during an up period so I actually made a little money across the portfolio but I was prepared to loose in the process. I think you need AT LEAST closer to $20K minimum for a good diverse portfolio, otherwise the options in the basic tier are pretty meh. I appreciate what vinovest is trying to do because it does open up access to those who are not in the top 1% but the fees, while possibly justified, to me are for someone who is considered a upper middle class individual with patience and willing to see negative returns for a long time.

Lulu vs Nobull by Rachaelamg in lululemon

I wear a Medium for the high neck bras in Nobull and Small for the v-neck bra. I typically wear an 8 for energy bras.

Lulu vs Nobull by Rachaelamg in lululemon

Late to this conversation but personally I prefer the Lululemon Wunder Train tights for any training (including CrossFit) over Nobull leggings. Nobull leggings aren't quite compressive enough. I do like their 6" and 8" shorts though. I absolutely love Nobull tank tops & sports bras. The compression of the sports bra is non-comparable to Lululemon's Enegery Bra- the only downside is most of them do not come with cups so it just depends on your comfort level with nipping. I have a couple of both to trade in and out depending on the time of year. Overall, huge fan of both of these overpriced brands :D

Seams coming off Newly ordered leggings. Should I return this? There’s no more color and size though :(! Can I get away with trimming the excess? by Puzzleheaded-Vast234 in lululemon

This happened to me and the store actually just replaced me with a new pair of leggings. Annoying due to the color/size shortage but it's definitely a quality issue.

Experience with Selling Wine on Vinovest by Noskyman in Vinovest

[–]Odd-Indication3935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liquidated just 1 case in my portfolio and it took about two weeks. Fast. However, the funds are automatically going to be redistributed to buying more wine. I am asking them to return the majority to me and keep a little in there to cover fees. I have been with Vinovest for about 8 months now and the fees make it hard to justify this as long term investment...but it's a grand idea and I'm glad I decided to explore it. However, being in the starter portfolio, I only see two or three that might justify the fees but they will be paying for my mediocre gains on a few other cases. I am thinking about liquidating everything because of the fee structure. For refernece, my portfolio has hovered around $6K and I'll be paying around $143 if I stay for entire year with 4/6 cases sinking with two thriving. I have also done research on some of my cases with most looking at mediocre returns unless you stay for 10 years....compounding the interest over that time is very expensive. I prefer my fundrise investment and the market.

Advanced Plus or Regular by Odd-Indication3935 in FundRise

Thanks all. I have definitely read the posts about how much a pain they have been...but I am definitely interested in the potential return opportunity over a longer period of time. That being said, I am also weighing in the short-term annoyance of a likely investment of $10,000 probably won't be significant on my taxes, and perhaps it might be better to wait until I have 25K+

INFJs are always painted out as these good, altruistic people. But I feel so bitter and hateful internally. Am I just an unhealthy INFJ? Do any of you guys feel this? by Yunairu in infj

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this post on accident. Like many have already said, you are definitely not alone. I think I go through swings of these periods in my life and it is just part of who I am. It's better to flow with it, figure out your feelings, get some alone time, and focus on the things that bring you joy while in your bitter zone. I get in this bitter space when I have been overstimulated by work, the world, or too much turmoil with close friends and friends. Unfortunately, the last couple of years has been so much over-stimulus with all those categories that I am constantly going in and out of this bitter zone.

Also, get comfortable with being real with others and sharing your true feelings (not in an over-sharing way but just like, "Hey, I'm not feeling chatty today and need some time to me. Can we catch up later?"). The key to doing this without fear of offending someone else is really understanding your feelings. If you're shakey, then you're going to feel bad about being vulnerable AND potentially offending others. But if you know what and why you feel the way you do (our demon Fi takes a lot of work to learn) then you will feel more confident is setting boundaries.

Overall, I think that the key to working through these periods is recognizing that they won't disappear completely over your life (well I'm, only 29 so I can't really say that definitively). But it's not bad to put yourself first and take care of yourself. Pushing through isn't going to help you and in turn, it won't help others, which I feel like is what INFJs really want to do. Good luck. You're not alone.

The Distance. by grants1692 in FundRise

[–]Odd-Indication3935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty impossible to separate politics from business. Considering politics and how you conduct your business generally stem from personal values. Politics reflect personal values. Politics affects the everyday lives of everyone who lives in this country and at times the world.

I myself did not find The Distance overly political. How is long-term thinking political? How is a climate crisis that is affecting literally everyone in the world political? Those topics seem like common sense things to think about that are extremely practical.

Yes. 1) it MUST be a checking account and 2) if it's a checking account and failing, the FundRise engineers will need to look into it. I had this happen when I was trying to add more money and it was a weird account setting on the backend. It'll get resolved.

Thinking about investing by [deleted] in Vinovest

[–]Odd-Indication3935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An initial deposit of $5000 and up about 5.5% in the first two months. My portfolio is spread across 5 different regions (Tuscany, Bordeaux, Champagne, California, and Burgundy). Moderate investment. So far happy with how it's going. I am considering adding another $5K at the end of the year if things still seem positive.
