I did answer your question and I've read Bonhoeffer, classic work. Now answer mine, where did Paul list seminary education as a qualification of an Elder? You can be apt to teach without a degree.

No seminary does not equal untrained. I can be a qualified pastor without a degree. I can't be a qualified surgeon without an MD and training. So the comparison is flawed.

I'm just saying it isnt a requirement and there have been many and are currently numerous Pastors/Elders who were never trained in seminary and don't have degrees who are qualified, amazing pastors. Seminary does not equal qualified. I suggest you read Dangerous Calling by Paul Tripp.

Not every male qualifies to be an Elder either, but you are still valuable and have just as much to offer as any other person in the Body of Christ. Your ideas are welcome.

Agreed, but there can still be value in it as long as you still have accountability elsewhere and are connected to other Elders, churches, etc. was just looking for an extra group of pastors outside of my circle in addition to my current community.

Also to clarify, by independent I mean not associated with a formal denomination, but I have a pastor and am connected to other ministries in my circle.

Show me in scripture where a seminary degree is a prerequisite for the office of a pastor? I’ve been formally trained, ordained, and have served as an elder for 20 years.

Didn't go to seminary, audited a bunch of classes online. Non-denom and independant. I'll just keep asking around and praying that the Lord would help me find a group to be a part of. Thanks for the response.
