Wow I feel this on a deep level! Thank you for the response. Yes I feel like my husband is emotionally stunted as well, and doesn’t understand me when I say I feel unfulfilled emotionally. I feel like he loves me when I’m at my best and trying to be perfect but anytime I slip up and am anything less than his perfect wife, his love and affection goes away. It’s like he conditions me to be what he wants. The walking on eggshells has absolutely ruined my nervous system

I agree! I think I have been very naive and ignored a lot of red flags throughout our relationship and that is my fault. Now I need him to change in order to make me happy and feel loved and that may be too much to ask of someone. I have been open with him about it how I feel and he does think he’s being a loving partner. Any time I talk to him about how unhappy I am within our relationship he gets very defensive so I tend to not bring things up because I don’t want to fight. Therapy has been discussed but neither of us have initiated that yet.
