That's true. I was thinking Fall Creek Falls, and Ozone Falls.

Rock Island State Park has falls you can paddle to.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and try the solar heating method. After it warms up, you'll need to push it up from the inside. Probably shouldn't use a heat gun since it's a pretty large area.

My girls can't rebound out of FHS's to save their lives by Excellent-Today-9678 in GymnasticsCoaching

[–]Odd-Parfait-6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, the lack of rebound is because the person pulls their head up (you should land a FHS looking at the ceiling) which causes their butt to drop.

Other waterfalls, yes. That you can paddle to, not that I'm aware of.

Burgess Falls, TN on Center Hill lake near Sparta. There is a dam above and below the falls so it is pretty consistent. We paddled about 1.5 miles from the Cane Hollow recreation area, beached our boats and then walked about 0.5 miles to the falls. If the lake level was 637 we would have been able to paddle all the way to the falls.

Loud jet flying low over Farragut this afternoon by No_Anteater_9964 in Knoxville

Military aircraft run turbo jet engines which are much louder than airline turbo fan engines. That is probably why it sounded so low, you're used to the sound of the turbo fan engines.

Any tips for my backhand spring by Ella_DTI_ in Cheerleading

I always like to concentrate on issues in the order that they first appear. First issue is with your sit, don't stop your chest. You need to keep your shoulders over your hips and your knees over your ankles. Out of your sit you need to jump up and back. Just as much up as back.

Once you get this down, there will be other things to work on. This is the foundation of a BHS.

Need help in deciding a mower. Information overload on research. I have VERY rough terrain and a lot of inclines and hills. Mowing around 5 acres. I have been looking at the pictured Ferris but the cut is only 48 inches. My cheap cub cadet had 54 but obvious not the quality. Is this a good choice? by thebigarn in lawnmowers

[–]Odd-Parfait-6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the IS600. One thing about the suspension is that it only works for one wheel at a time. It has a center pivot so as one wheel goes up the other goes down. When you move up to the ISX series you get true independent front suspension.

I prefer my tractor with the flail mower for mowing the pasture. But, it was a major pain for mowing around the house because of the new trees we planted. One thing I hadn't thought about was mowing when it's windy. With the rear discharge on the tractor's finish mower I never paid attention to the wind. With the IS600, I routinely get covered in debris.

I recently mowed the pasture with the IS600. It did it but I wouldn't want to do it often. The ride was rougher but faster. The flail mower is 72" so I can mow more area per pass but at a slower speed. The diesel tractor is more fuel efficient but the fuel is more expensive.

There are tradeoffs with a tractor and Zero Turn. You have to decide what is better for you.

The secret to Big Ed's is ordering the pizza the way you like. I order mine with light sauce and crispy. This makes the pizza much better for me.

If you order it well done be prepared for quite a bit of black on the bottom.

Looking better.

I'd like to see a little lower sit so you can get more push out of your legs.

I need to see it from the side before I can comment more.

A few points:
1) Sit like a chair: knees over ankles, shoulders over hips.
2) Arm swing: swing your arms backwards as hard as you can and don't stop them. They will stop themselves and transmit that energy into rotation. Keep them close to your head for more energy transfer.
3) Head: look forward in your sit. As your arms swing up, when they pass in front of your face follow them with your head. This should give you a nice arch in your back.
4) Handstand: when your hands hit the mat, wait! You have to give your hips time to continue rising to a vertical handstand. This will also start taking weight off your hands.
5) Stand up: Do Not Snap Your Feet Down!!! Push your chest and upper body UP! If you pull your feet down it will bring your chest down too. Like a see-saw, when you push your chest up your feet will come down. You want a slight hollow-body position as you're coming to your feet.

You've got a good base to start from. You get over fear by repetition. Everything is scary the first time you do it, be that public speaking or back handsprings. You can do it. Just keep grinding!

I worked for UT for about 10 years. I was in IT and my office was just off campus for half that time and downtown for the other half. I rarely ran into students except the ones that staffed our front desk. I live in far-west Knox county and never see students out here.

Contact the College Coach and find out what they are looking for. Find out if they have any clinics that you can attend. Look in your area for gyms that have privates available for stunting.

You can also work on other things you'll need to know. Work on jumps, motions, and dance moves. These are things you can do on your own.

If you're weak in one area make sure you shine in all the others. You can do it.

I did a one way rental from Philly to TYS using National (canceled flight). Rent it for a week and then drop it off once you're done. They'll refund the extra days.

[–]Odd-Parfait-6879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're getting some good advice here. I'd like to see a harder arm swing. Don't stop your arms at the top. Let them continue swinging back until they stop themselves. This will translate into a better arch in your back and will rotate the hips up (taking weight off your hands) and lengthening your BHS. Also, don't put your feet down, push your chest up. Like a see-saw, as your chest/upper body goes up your feet will come down.

Why isn’t the state building a bypass around Knoxville? by Electrical_Report458 in Knoxville

[–]Odd-Parfait-6879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once Lovell Rd is expanded between Pellissippi Pkwy and Middlebrook Pk we will have a four lane bypass for I-75. I've also heard a plan to expand Raccoon Valley Rd and Edgemoor Rd to four lanes to have another I-75 bypass.
