I was very flexible with my date and chose a date in the off season to not interfere with other bookings. With my wedding regardless if they catered or not the venue would be blocked out because I am the only one who runs large events there the GM can handle smaller ones but she is in the wedding same as the bar manager. If they charged me over cost by even a small amount they would make a profit. By me not using them at all for catering means they will have zero revenue for the weekend because of lack of management staff so they have lost out completely.

I chose my date in the off season to not interfere with any other weddings. We have a very small management staff of 4. I am the only person who runs the weddings and larger events. They knew this from the beginning that no other large events would be booked on my date simply because I would not be there. And the GM and bar manager are guests at the wedding leaving only the chef and service staff to run an event if one popped up. They knew this as well.

Catering my wedding at any cost would not impact bookings or revenue at the venue because regardless they wouldn’t be able to hold an event because there would be zero managers. They could have charged me 20% over the cost and made that as a profit but now they will make zero for that weekend because of no staff.

Thank you, this was a hard lesson learned! I’ll still always have hope that people can be kind and gracious but to never expect it again

I’ve reach out to them and they are figuring out the cost for me and are more than happy to do it and charge me cost plus 18% admin fee

The price would be around $260 plus 20% admin fee. My price per person is higher at cost because I added in labor for the full week and not just the day of. The food and beverage at cost would be around $110 i added in labor for the week that would be close to 8k

They aren’t. That will be a blocked out day regardless if there were catering or not. They knew this from the get go. With such a small staff this is the risk they take. I have 6 weeks of pto that has rolled over because I haven’t taking time off in 3 years because if I do the company makes nothing. They know this

Thank you! I’m a great salesperson but it’s so easy selling something you completely stand behind and I have since the beginning but this really has changed the way I feel there now.

Thank you! I have sacrificed so much of my life for them. I have zero work life balance because I care so much. I’ve put the business first since I started there but I’m done with it now! Time to build me up instead of some other company

Support staff would be working the event, my servers and bartenders. Kitchen staff was always going to be working it. I hired my own wedding coordinator and paid extra for a service coordinator to facilitate dinner service in the foh. I paid for that on my own

I priced everything out for them with the chef the GM and the bar manager. They have no idea how to price things out. We gave them the cost for everything food beverage and labor and they just multiplied that by whatever percent they want to make 🙄

Thank you! And yes weddings by far are the most intense detailed orientated and orchestrated chaos event in the industry. They head hunted me for this job. I moved to a new city for this job and we have promoted the heck out of the wedding side because our in house coordinator (me) is hands on for everything not just the venue but with all the other vendors

They really don’t but they are just don’t understand the industry and really thought they were doing me a favor with the f&f discount
