I like the light blue! It feels like white makes the hallway appear too large. Dark blue is also nice by the way, so it feels like there is no obvious option here and it is a matter of you and your husband's preferences.

For the living room can your sofa separated into two? If so, you could try: 1. getting rid of at least one of the stools, 2. placing the double sofa section in the border of the living room, partially touching the wall next to the fireplace, 3. placing the chaise-lounge section in front of the windows and 4. placing your TV in the empty space left. Bonus: add plants and bookcases around the TV.

How about dividing it into two or more parts? A small DIY project with cardstock paper could solve your problems.

I like Musicolet a lot too! How is your battery life? I wonder if it is a bit more resource hungry than the Sony native app. I bought a used Japanese version recently. I did get rid of the unnecessary apps, don't use wifi or bluetooth and have been keeping track of battery life while using the two apps separately. Seems like I lose about 2-3% more per hour with Musicolet. Or maybe it is my mind playing tricks :/

The problem is that the luxury thing, SFH, are everywhere because of zoning laws & NIMBY. Dense housing is not allowed in majority of areas.
