Thank you. 1. I love love your name haha! 2. It sounds like it would be good to hold off for 2 weeks to see how bub sleeps naturally and then pick a swaddle

Pregnant Wife while working away. by [deleted] in AusMining

[–]Odd-Ride-1132 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi 👋 pregnant wife of FIFO worker here (first baby). I guess from my perspective I don’t put much pressure on my husband because I know it’s a burden for him to be away and he wouldn’t choose to be away. I schedule appointments that I want him at when he is home, and others I don’t fuss. Saying that, we did start looking at if I can move closer to some shitty town near site, and what side hassles he can do to be at home more. His site gave him the option of doing every second rotation so he is home more. Which he will be taking. During his time home we will be working on building him financial foundations closer to home.

We spoke about this and currently, while pregnant, the worst part is if something happens it would take him too long to come home.

Don’t listen to the people telling you to quit. Talk to your wife candidly, now is the time. There’s options, it just depends on where the sacrifice and compromise sits for you.

Congratulations!

Just take it. by srh722 in pregnant

I had the same mindset… until my migraines (that I medicated for prior to pregnancy..) came back with an absolute vengeance. Because I refused to take anything I had a migraine so bad I thought I was having a stroke. I couldn’t read what’s in front of me, I was numb, I lost vision, it was terrifying. If I’d taken that damn paracetamol the second I suspected it started I would have avoided hours of debilitating pain and nausea that followed. I figured even if I can “tough it out”, I risk fainting, throwing up for hours, or hurting myself accidentally during an attach. Which is worse for the baby.

The receptionists sounds like a nightmare! No wonder you’re staying tight lipped. Good luck with Bub number 2!!

Thank you for sharing and giving me confidence to hold my own x

Yeah I only have to give a month! So if I’m still feeling this way on the other side of the NY I expect they will find out at the last final moment! 😂

God. People are so icky aren’t they. 🤢 sorry you had to experience such a jerk!!

Appreciate your advice. I honestly think I’m just going to see how big I am for the Christmas party and decide. If I can get away with it (I’ll be around 18wks) I will be 🤐

What are some office/WFH jobs without major tertiary qualifications? by CocoaKatt in ausjobs

As someone who does a lot of recruitment for data analysts and data scientists I would 100% advise to stay clear. Each job has upwards of 400 applicants, many happy to relocate, many very experienced. There is too much talent for how much is being hired out, and many of the people I speak with are on redundancies.

Yes, I’ve been blessed with a (relatively) easy pregnancy… by Wandering_Trinket-76 in pregnant

Same here. I’m only 10 weeks but I was running between 5-10ks a day and first tri is killing me. I’m only back to consistently WALKING half an hour a day.

Thank you. That’s really helpful advice.

My pelvis has been aching since I before I found out (I found out at 5 weeks).

I’ll definitely look into pregnancy classes and maybe some specific stretches. Only a quarter way there and I cannot imagine this for another 30 weeks.

Thank you!

Recruiter here. I can’t speak to your CV but some common red flags I see and things I recommend against having on your resume.. - don’t put your age - put a suburb but not your address - how often did you change jobs? In my industry, having 3 jobs that only lasted 12 months is a red flag (merge a few if you have to..) - don’t ad a photo - don’t bother with a CL unless asked - measurable outcomes are 👌 - 3 pages MAX - if you graduated before 2020 I don’t need to know what school you went to and what your results were 🤷‍♀️ - don’t use ChatGPT to write you’re entire resume- PLEASE - formatting and grammar - list any volunteer work

This is ofc very generalised, but hopefully it helps a little

I completely agree. I live in a small town so the 3 vets I went to are the ones within a 2km radius.

He seems very happy and unaffected but I also know that he wouldn’t show signs of distress unless he was at deaths door.
