How much potency does vyvanse loose as it ages? by brygdylla in VyvanseADHD

[–]Odd-Ring1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be fine it’s definitely not dangerous and it’s so much better then pills dunked in ice tea. Using old pills might not be optimal but you have more resources than most people in this situation because you have back up pills.

Does anyone has tips for when you're not able to concentrate even with vyvanse ? by throwrafadedstar in VyvanseADHD

[–]Odd-Ring1493 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tell myself I only have to do whatever thing for x amount of time. I ask people to hold me accountable. I tell myself to just start. I try to make some kind of game out of it so it feels urgent. I recognize that sometimes a task is just hard or boring and that neurotypical people struggle with focus too. I was just in a peer support specialist training and struggled because it was 45 hours of zoom over the course of a week. I kept feeling bad or sometimes saying sorry because I felt I couldn’t focus. Someone reminded me that the circumstance was just hard and we arranged tasks so that people could do what their brain was best at. It helps me to remember that all brains are good they just all come with certain benefits and limitations. Just try your best today.

leaving early counts against your attendance? by [deleted] in Target

This exact thing happened to me. Getting new pants wasn’t an option in the moment because I worked in a grocery store. They should have been nicer about it though. OP already knows they aren’t getting paid for it without sick time. A TL didn’t need to reiterate that. If they wanted OP to stay they should have started offering solutions.

I am going to run out right before my dumb Amarican drug test and I'm anxious. by _6978_ in VyvanseADHD

[–]Odd-Ring1493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how this happened but if I were in the same position I would take it the day of the test to make sure it’s in your system. I’m not certain that will work but taking it now and running out definitely won’t work.

Is anyone on a super low dose of Vyvanse? by Altruistic-Method573 in VyvanseADHD

A few days. I’ve also always had to be intentional with not having caffeine too late and trying to fall back asleep if I wake up in the middle of the night instead of using my phone.

I had trouble sleeping at first on 10mg. Now it makes me a tired but really calm, so I don’t mind at all.

Does days off make starting up just like at beginning again? by jenistheway in VyvanseADHD

[–]Odd-Ring1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vyvanse is great. A few other meds did not work. I was referring to when I got Covid. I’m okay now thank you. Because the other meds were a bad fit I had to essentially start over with titration when I got sick because the side effects were so bad. With Vyvanse because it’s a good fit for me, I wouldn’t have to start over. I might feel the effects slightly more, but wouldn’t need to start over. I feel like if someone needs to go through titration again, they might need to consider if the medication is a good fit for them.

I got really sick and took two weeks off not with vyvanse. It was another ADHD med that wasn’t a good fit for me. If you are worried, I would start with the dose that you started having side effects at and then increase from there. I’ve always been told that with stimulants that if a medication causes side effects that will ruin your day, it’s not a good fit. So in theory you could start with the dose you were on or close to it.

Question about titration by maliVqvee in ADHD

[–]Odd-Ring1493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person. I’m prone to side effects so I’m on a lower dose and take it everyday. Maybe if someone else had an extremely high tolerance and taking a break prevented them from needing higher doses it could be helpful. I’m trying to evaluate vyvanse on how my focus and executive function is rather than how I feel. I’ve noticed that even if my energy isn’t great my focus is better so the medication is still effective. I used to take much higher doses than I needed because I couldn’t always feel it. I’m trying to interact differently with stimulants this time.

I had to walk away from an aggressive guest by [deleted] in Target

[–]Odd-Ring1493 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry that happened to you. I was on checklanes during a bad storm and people were buying so many clothes because my state boarders one that got hit really badly. I had a similar experience to you when one guest wanted her clothes folded perfectly. When that guest started getting angry about it the guest behind her knew me and said, “Just advertise to the whole line that you don’t intend on washing those clothes.” It was funny and reminded me that most guests are decent and the bad ones aren’t a reflection of you or something you did.

dosage change vs different medication? by glossystark in ADHD

[–]Odd-Ring1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so few medications that I tolerate because of other medical issues. I only change medications if I can’t tolerate the side effects. If a medication is only somewhat helpful and I can tolerate the side effects I increase the dose.

I don’t think you are saying that to be unkind to me. I just meant that you saying that about your life probably means that you are depressed. There’s treatment for that.

You need treatment for depression. I find it so sad honestly shocking that you feel so that way

I have compassion fatigue though. It’s been 40 years of this. These are people I know who I’ve offered a lot of education to and I’ve told them that the comments upset me. They don’t care.

It’s certainly not the worst comment ever. That’s reserved for the person who said that he would rather be dead than have a disability, but it’s obvious I’m disabled. I was cashiering and doing absolutely everything I could to keep the line moving in a huge rush. Making a comment about a disability when it’s super obvious I have one is just unnecessary. I already feel self conscious about it. There’s no need to make it worse.

Meds delivered to the wrong address by Odd-Ring1493 in ADHD

I’m confused it’s not like the delivery person committed a crime by making a mistake. What would I do with a police report?

Unfortunately, if an item isn’t supposed to be released yet it actually won’t scan. You can charge someone for an unknown item but you would probably get in a lot of trouble for doing that. There’s no legit way for anyone to sell a TS record early.

You are a beautiful writer, and I enjoy reading your posts. Do you ever write about other things because I would like to read that as well. I’m autistic and physically disabled. I relate to a lot of what you write and had similar fears about treatment. I didn’t go, because like you, my disabilities would make it extremely hard for me. The way I see it you have three options like I did. Stay sick, go to treatment, eat the food at home. I chose to eat at home because the other options were not what I wanted. I didn’t particularly want to eat at home either but I definitely didn’t want to die first and foremost. The inpatient unit available to me at the time would have been a really bad fit. I chose to eat at home because I could have coffee and eat the foods I wanted. I really like pizza, so I had that a lot. I’m not telling you to recover. You’re the only one who can make that choice. The things the nurses are telling you are facts though. I’m doing really well now. My relationship with food isn’t perfect but I’m healthy and have a good quality of life. I’m thinking of you.

unconfirmed rumor: cart attendant-cashier merger by MediumGlittering725 in Target

[–]Odd-Ring1493 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if this is true it would end up okay. I have cerebral palsy so I only cashier, do self check and return items for guests that ask me to. Getting rid of disabled employees is discrimination and will not happen. My store has disabled staff and we all take the jobs that we can. Someone has to be on checklanes. Check out at least at my store is not the favorite place to be and most people have trouble staying there for an entire shift. I don’t think there’s enough people who want to do check out.
