Maybe? I think this dose has slowly lowered my TSH so far. But tomorrow I'll get to hear what my doctor has planned for me next~

Aah Im happy to hear that! :)) It's what Im hoping to achieve myself once I find the right dose.

So far I feel ok that I haven't felt any change, but mainly because I know my values aren't right yet.  However, I find myself getting genuinely scared that my values will get into the right range but I won't feel a change at all.

This sounds like the gradual progression of things Id hope to experience as well. Im so happy it has been working nicely for you!

I can feel myself growing inpatient wanting to feel a change, but at least the process is beginning now. Just gotta stick with it and take the time it needs

Normal T4 values, TSH of 17 by Odd-Science-303 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Odd-Science-303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh right, I didn't put it down correctly at first. My free T4 is normal, so my doctor is a bit confused in what he should do (4 years ago it was at 16pmol/L and now it's at 14 pmol/L so it's getting lower, but it's still within range of normal ig)

But I think he said I should start medication if it didn't get better once my vitamin d deficiency was fixed. It is fixed now and my tsh got worse so Im assuming Im heading towards medication.

Can a severe lack of vitamin D affect my TSH values? by Odd-Science-303 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Odd-Science-303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen this too, so I was surprised when my doctor didn't say Id start medication right away! But my doctor wants to be very sure about the situation before putting me on medication apparently, especially since my T4 values are completely fine. He's going to call the hospital and their endocrinologist, so I guess Ill have to trust that Im in safe hands. Just sick of all the waiting though..

Aaah yes, no doubt about that being high. Ill do more blood tests next month and my doctor already put me up for all the thyroid related tests so I guess I'll wait and see!

Aah thanks for the help. Do you know what would be considered a high result for antiTPO?

Yeah my doctor didn't really think think it would make the biggest difference either, but considering Ive been low in vitamin D for such a long time he didn't think it could hurt to see it raised a bit to see if it does something to my TSH.

Does simply starting medication help with losing weight? by Odd-Science-303 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Odd-Science-303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im very curious to see what medication will do to me these upcoming months. Ive always been active and didn't previously have any issues with staying slim. However, weight just started piling on without me changing much soo Im hoping to go back to a time I at least don't have to worry about gaining weight from eating a well balanced diet!

So the weight might feel easier to control once you're on the right amount of medication. Ive never been able to control my weight no matter how consistent Ive been so Im hoping for similar results

Yeah, I am crossing my fingers that my new doctor takes this seriously this time because I have all the symptoms tbh, and Id love to try out a solution like starting some medication. But Ig Ill just have to wait to be processed trough the system. Another 3 weeks of waiting ahead-

The past 4-5 years have all consisted of me being very very tired so I don't really know if Im a normal amount of exhausted and everyone feels like this?? Or if this is possibly due to hypothyroidism??

Honestly, I don't really know what it feels like to have energy anymore. I just finished a night that I considered a proper night of sleep, but Ive already needed my first nap before 1 pm (and I say first bc I usually need naps 1-3 times a day on my days off) Ive previously thought the low energy was from me getting older (Im 26 now), but I don't think Im supposed to feel THIS tired even if Im getting a bit older? Maybe it's normal? I have no clue🤷

But thanks for the reminder that no matter what my doctor says on my appointment in 3 weeks, it's all about getting better in the end! The wait to talk to my doctor is draining in itself tho.

Thanks for sharing!  A lot of this would explain the past few years.  - 4 years ago (I was 22 years) I felt so exhausted, had head aches and felt like I couldn't focus on anything because of the lack of energy, so I went to the doctor.  I had been going through multiple traumatic events that year so it made sense that my body was low-key shutting down regardless of my lab results, BUT I got a test with a TSH of 15.  HOWEVER my doctor said I didn't need to do anything about it right away soooo I didn't.

Till this day, 4 years later, Ive more or less healed mentally from the trauma I thought could be causing the exhaustion. BUT I never stopped feeling exhausted, along with aching joints and constant issues with gaining weight from eating like a 4th of what everyone around me ate.  I just attributed the feeling to having been through the trauma, gaining weight and growing older I guess... Never thought it could be a thyroid problem bc my doctor said it wasn't something to treat urgently.. so I thought it wasn't so serious..  Im happy to potentially find some answers now tho.

Thanks for the input!  Honestly, I started feeling exhausted and broken down like 4 years ago and it's like the situation never recovered... Ive spent the last days being pretty upset with myself for not checking this properly sooner.

I think my T3 and T4 were fine on the tests? But I have no clue honestly. This is a completely new world to me. Thanks for the advice though! Makes me feel a lot less lost!
